Job Description

Are you a tech-savvy storyteller who can translate complex cloud solutions into compelling customer value for government and public sector institutions? At AWS, we're seeking a Sr. Product Marketing leader for government who can shape the future of cloud and AI adoption across government institutions globally.
As the world's leading cloud and AI provider with 200+ services, AWS needs strategic thinkers who can connect the dots across our vast portfolio. In this role, you'll work backwards from customer needs to influence go-to-market, product strategy, and messaging across public sector verticals, including global governments, defense partners, education, healthcare, and non-profit.
We're looking for a unique blend of public sector expert, technologist, and marketer - someone who can dive deep into technical needs of governments and key partners while crafting value propositions that resonate with customers.
You'll deliver a deep understanding of the market landscape, partner with product teams to understand customer priorities and use cases, shape our product portfolio and GTM motions, and drive positioning and messaging for our global government business.

Key job responsibilities
- Create and drive messaging for the AWS worldwide global government business, including our value proposition, customer promises, and reasons to believe that we’ll highlight across all public sector GTM and marketing activities
- Shape our GTM strategy for global governments, partnering with sales, GTM, and product management teams to develop ideal customer profiles, priority use cases, and differentiators for products focused on governments and public sector; defining best practice architecture and services for each use case
- Analyze and synthesize market data from multiple sources (including direct customer feedback) to shape portfolio strategy for AWS GovRegions offerings, identify new product opportunities, and accelerate adoption of existing AWS offerings
- Lead product launch plan and execution for new offerings focused on governments, including naming, target audience definition, and marketing vehicles
- Develop technical content including customer stories, keynotes, presentations, demonstrations, and reference architectures that educate public sector and government customers on AWS offerings
- Represent AWS as a technical evangelist in executive briefings, industry events, and analyst interactions
- Drive field enablement strategies to support product launches, campaigns, and customer success

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology field
- Experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
- 6+ years of direct experience working with customers on cloud and AI technology adoption
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with federal government, defense, national security, or intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA, or Master's degree
- Experience developing go-to-market strategies for technical products
- Track record of creating compelling technical demonstrations and reference architectures
- Data analysis skills with ability to synthesize insights from multiple source
- Experience presenting to executive-level audiences and industry analysts

About Amazon

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.

Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.

Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.

You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
