This role is responsible for leading externally facing lending products, platform capabilities, servicing enhancements, and growth initiatives that generate revenue, improve the provider experience, and support Optum Bank's lending growth and modernization strategy.

The Senior Product Manager leads product strategy, roadmap alignment, cross-product sequencing, product readiness, performance management, stakeholder alignment, and trade-off decisions across assigned Lending products and workstreams.

This role manages Product Managers and operates as a player-coach leader, establishing clear ownership, strengthening product requirements and decision-making, developing talent, and ensuring appropriate risks and decisions are elevated.

The Senior Product Manager is accountable for product leadership, team effectiveness, and business outcomes. Delivery governance, Scrum facilitation, release execution, technical solution design, and development task management remain with the appropriate Agile, Project Management, Release, Technology, and Engineering roles.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead product strategy, roadmaps, priorities, and business outcomes across assigned Lending products, platforms, and workstreams
• Manage and develop Product Managers by establishing clear ownership, setting expectations, providing coaching, and strengthening product management practices
• Translate Lending portfolio strategy into product-domain priorities, sequencing recommendations, measurable outcomes, and delivery-ready direction
• Review and strengthen product strategies, business cases, requirements, customer journeys, success measures, and decision recommendations developed by Product Managers
• Drive cross-product trade-off decisions involving customer value, revenue, cost, capacity, risk, compliance, operational complexity, and speed to market
• Ensure assigned products and capabilities have clear business outcomes, accountable owners, documented decisions, identified dependencies, and sufficient readiness before delivery commitments are made
• Partner with Technology, Operations, Credit, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and third-party providers to resolve complex product and platform decisions
• Monitor product performance, financial outcomes, customer experience, operational effectiveness, and risk indicators, and initiate corrective action when needed
• concise, decision-oriented updates to senior leaders regarding priorities, outcomes, risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and required actions
• Identify opportunities to standardize shared lending capabilities, simplify operating processes, modernize platforms, and improve scalability across the portfolio
• Use approved AI and automation capabilities to improve product analysis, quality, quality, portfolio reporting, decision support, and team productivity
• Serve as an escalation point for product decisions while maintaining clear accountability with the Product Managers who own the underlying products or domains

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of product management experience supporting revenue-generating products, including experience managing products across the full lifecycle
• 5+ years of experience building or managing lending or credit products within financial services or another regulated environment
• 5+ years of experience leading product strategy, roadmap alignment, cross-product sequencing, and complex prioritization decisions
• 5+ years of experience translating business and customer needs into product requirements, process flows, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product-delivery content
• 5+ years of experience using customer, financial, operational, or product data to solve complex or ambiguous business problems
• 5+ years of experience communicating product recommendations, risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and decisions to senior business and technology stakeholders
• 3+ years of experience coaching Product Managers or comparable product professionals and improving product ownership, requirements quality, decision-making, or team effectiveness
• 3+ years of formal people-management experience, including coaching and developing Product Managers or comparable product professionals

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with small business, commercial, provider, consumer, or healthcare lending
• Experience with product-level P&L ownership, pricing, forecasting, or financial performance management
• Experience with loan origination, servicing, credit decisioning, payments, portfolio monitoring, collections, or line-management capabilities
• Experience with APIs, data integrations, digital lending platforms, and third-party financial technology providers
• Experience leading products across multiple delivery teams, vendors, or shared-platform capabilities
• Experience modernizing lending platforms, servicing capabilities, or operating processes
• Experience developing Product Managers and implementing consistent product management practices
• Experience using AI or automation in product management and leadership activities
• Demonstrated familiarity with Agile or iterative product development practices

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
