As a Senior Product Manager, you'll own the strategy, innovation, and commercial performance of an assigned product portfolio within the President's Choice and no name brands, helping bring high-quality, differentiated products to customers across the country. This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for one direct report. You'll lead your category from strategy through commercialization, partnering with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver innovative products, strengthen brand equity, grow market share, and create meaningful business results. What You'll Do

Own Category Strategy & Business Performance

You'll be accountable for developing and executing a multi-year category strategy that delivers sustainable business growth. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a two-year strategic category plan.
  • Owning annual sales, margin, profitability, market share, and innovation objectives.
  • Building business cases and financial forecasts to support strategic investments.
  • Identifying growth opportunities through customer insights, competitive analysis, and market trends.
  • Monitoring business performance and implementing actions to maximize results.

Lead Product Innovation

Drive the end-to-end commercialization of new products from concept through launch. You'll:

  • Identify consumer and marketplace opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and financial feasibility assessments.
  • Partner with suppliers to develop innovative products.
  • Define product specifications, packaging, pricing, and launch strategies.
  • Partner with merchandising and marketing teams to deliver successful product launches.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to brand standards.

Grow and Optimize the Existing Portfolio

Maintain a strong, competitive product portfolio by:

  • Monitoring sales, profitability, product availability, and supplier performance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency.
  • Leading initiatives that strengthen portfolio performance and customer loyalty.
  • Implementing corrective actions when business performance requires adjustment.

Influence Across the Business

Success in this role depends on building strong partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization. You'll regularly work with Director level leaders to align priorities and drive successful business outcomes, and will collaborate closely with teams including:

Build Strategic Supplier Partnerships

Develop strong relationships with a diverse supplier network, managing approximately 30–100 supplier partners depending on your portfolio.

You'll:

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and performance.
  • Lead commercial negotiations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate innovation sessions that identify future product opportunities.
  • Ensure suppliers consistently deliver against quality, service, timing, and cost expectations.

Deliver Outstanding Packaging & Customer Experience

Lead more than 20 packaging initiatives annually, working with internal partners and external agencies to deliver packaging that enhances the customer experience and strengthens our brands.

Support Successful Product Launches

Partner with Marketing to develop compelling product positioning and go-to-market plans that support successful launches across multiple customer touchpoints, including PC Optimum™ and other integrated marketing programs.

Develop Talent

Lead, coach, and develop direct report(s), providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities while fostering a collaborative, high-performing working relationship.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a commercially minded brand leader who thrives in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment. You'll bring:

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in Brand Management, Product Management, Category Management, Commercialization, Product Innovation, or a related commercial role within consumer-packaged goods, grocery retail, food manufacturing, or a similar industry
  • Experience developing brand strategy and driving portfolio growth.
  • Experience owning commercial business results, including sales, profitability, margin, market share, or P&L.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with experience developing business cases, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success leading brand innovation, product development, or commercialization initiatives from consumer insight through launch.
  • Experience influencing and aligning cross-functional stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring others, with previous people leadership experience considered an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related discipline.
