ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a Senior Product Line Manager to own the end-to-end product strategy and performance of the Telecom Transport Subsystems portfolio—driving roadmap, P&L (revenue & margin), lifecycle execution, and key customer engagement through cross-functional leadership.

Portfolio Management:

  • Own the product management of the Telecom Transport Subsystems portfolio, including roadmap development, revenue and margin performance, and lifecycle strategy.
  • Support the creation and execution of the Transport Subsystem product roadmap.
  • Prepare and contribute to revenue and margin forecasts, ensuring delivery against business targets.
  • Lead customer engagements—particularly with major accounts such as Cisco—from both a business and technical perspective.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive continuous grossmargin improvement, including identifying and developing differentiated product features.

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of A&L products, from opportunity assessment through development, launch, and endoflife.
  • Build and present business cases for new product and technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other corporate functions to ensure new developments are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve commercial and technical issues across the product lifecycle.

Customer Engagement & Satisfaction:

  • Engage with customers to identify, promote, and shape new product and technology opportunities.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to resolve customer issues, coordinating internal resources as needed.
  • Ensure clear, timely communication so customers have the information they need when working with Coherent.

Strategic & CrossFunctional Leadership:

  • Develop and execute strategies that maximize P&L impact from ongoing hardware and software developments across optical amplification, ROADM line cards, and metrology product lines.
  • Work closely with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and industry partners to support product success.
  • Lead crossfunctional teams to ensure successful product launches and sustained business performance.

ABOUT YOU

  • BS degree in a science or engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in the optics or optical networking industry.
  • Background in product line management, applications engineering, or similar roles supporting hightech products.
  • Strong understanding of optical transport networks and system architectures (hardware and software).
  • Experience with optical components such as pump lasers, passive components, DGEs, WSS, amplifiers, OTDR/OPM/OSC modules, ROADM/MCS architectures, and multirail transport solutions.
  • Multidisciplinary exposure across optical design, development, sales, and marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies that maximize P&L performance.
  • Skilled in managing highvalue product portfolios and meeting revenue/margin expectations.
  • Strong capability in developing product roadmaps and customer engagement strategies.
  • Comfortable operating in a global, multisite, multicultural environment.
