Job Description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Procurement Specialist at MKS Instruments, you will serve as the primary procurement focal point embedded in each Business Unit’s operations aligning supply chain execution with the Business Units production needs and driving operational excellence in supply continuity, cost and quality. Act as a bridge between the BU and Global Procurement, ensuring that procurement processes and decisions support the division’s goals while adhering to global standards. In this role, you will report to the Manager, Procurement Specialist

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Serve as the plant’s primary point of contact for all procurement activities.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with operations, category team suppliers, planning, engineering, and Global Procurement.
  • Proactively anticipate and mitigate material shortages before they impact production.
  • Maintain accurate supply‑vs‑demand visibility and own the BU shortage list.
  • Ensure every shortage has a defined action plan or workaround.
  • Provide timely, consistent updates to stakeholders and drive accountability for resolution.
  • Escalate persistent supply risks and partner cross‑functionally to resolve root causes
  • Ensure procurement processes within the BU remain audit‑ready and fully compliant with internal policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional support for supplier and customer audits, addressing findings promptly.
  • Represent Procurement in Management Business Reviews (MBRs).
  • Lead preparation for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Compile, analyze, and communicate key KPIs including OTD, backlog, MRB status, cost savings, PPV, and inventory health.
  • Drive monthly/quarterly procurement reviews within the BU, highlighting issues, escalating risks, and ensuring cross‑functional ownership of action items.

• Travel Requirements: Up to 20 to 30% of Travel is required.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems; Oracle experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage shortages, supplier issues, and fast‑paced production support.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting KPIs and driving action.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain process discipline, documentation accuracy, and compliance readiness.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time‑sensitive conditions
