To strengthen our team in Shanghai , we are looking for you as a(n) Sr. Procurement Specialist

Job Responsibilities

- Responsible for supporting to manage procurement of assigned categories, coordinating supply chain and supplier collaboration, and developing and implementing procurement strategies to support business growth and enhance overall competitiveness.
- Ensure continuous and stable supply to Wacker's plants, avoiding production interruptions while achieving competitive procurement costs.
- Work closely with global category managers to develop and drive sourcing strategies for global categories (including market analysis, target setting, and action planning), ensuring full alignment with supervisors and business units for effective execution.

- Support R&D and business teams by identifying and developing raw material sources from the market, matching them with company application needs, accelerating time-to-market for new products/applications, and continuously improving cost competitiveness.
- Continuously monitor market developments of key categories, establish and improve analytical tools and data systems, generate market insights, and proactively share them with business teams and global category teams to support decision-making and sourcing strategy development.
- Identify and develop qualified suppliers, evaluate supplier capabilities (including capacity, product quality, and service level), and lead supplier qualification, approval, and performance management.

- Manage procurement contracts, balancing risk and flexibility, and develop and execute effective negotiation strategies (including price, volume, delivery, and commercial terms) to optimize procurement value.
- Maintain master data and procurement reporting, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timely, reliable reporting.
- Establish and continuously improve supplier relationship management, including communication processes, complaint handling, annual evaluations, and continuous improvement. Coordinate supplier audits with support from quality, operations, and IMS teams; participate in internal and external audits; and drive suppliers to meet sustainability requirements.

- For automotive-related materials, ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements (if applicable), and manage activities such as material approval, supplier selection and qualification, monitoring, auditing, and development, ensuring purchased materials meet all statutory, regulatory, and quality system requirements.

Qualifications Required

Education
- Bachelor's degree or above (4-year college), preferably in science or engineering disciplines such as chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or biology.
Professional Experience

- Minimum 5 years of commercial experience, preferably in functions such as procurement, sales, marketing, or supply chain planning.
- Strong business experience in negotiations, contract management, and basic legal understanding.
- Experience working in multinational companies or joint ventures is preferred.

- Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Skills & Competencies

- Good coordination skills and strong teamwork mindset.

- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Proficient in MS Office and SAP systems.
