To ensure compliance with Income Tax Act provisions related to Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) by conducting periodic audits, reviewing transactions, identifying compliance gaps, and supporting timely correction and reporting of TDS-related issues.

You’ll make a difference by:

TDS Compliance Review

  • Review vendor invoices, and other payment transactions for correct TDS applicability.
  • Verify correct TDS sections, rates, thresholds, and exemptions.
  • Ensure adherence to Income Tax Act and applicable amendments.

TDS Audit Activities

  • Perform vendor invoice TDS audits on daily basis.
  • Identify instances of short deduction, non-deduction, or excess deduction of TDS.
  • Conduct risk-based reviews of high-value transactions
  • Prepare audit observations and recommend corrective actions.

Issue Resolution

  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Tax, and Business teams to resolve TDS discrepancies.
  • Monitor closure of audit findings.
  • Assist in responding to internal and statutory audit queries.

Process Improvement

  • Identify process gaps and recommend controls to improve TDS compliance.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and checklists.
  • Support automation and standardization initiatives in TDS processes.

Your success is grounded

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in TDS compliance, taxation, audit, or accounting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of TDS provisions under the Income Tax Act.
  • Understanding of Sections 192, 194C, 194H, 194I, 194J, 194Q, etc.
  • Experience in TDS return filing and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • TDS compliance accuracy rate.
  • Number of audit observations identified and resolved.
  • Timely completion of audit reviews.
  • Reduction in short/non-deduction cases.
  • On-time filing and reconciliation of TDS returns.
  • Successful closure of audit findings within agreed timelines.
