Job Description

Senior Power Electronics Engineer – EV Charging

Engineer the core technology behind high‑power EV charging systems

At Siemens eMobility Charging, we develop advanced power electronics that enable fast, reliable, and sustainable electric mobility worldwide. As a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and realizing high‑performance power converters for EV charging applications across passenger vehicles, buses, and heavy‑duty transport.

This role is ideal for experienced engineers who combine deep theoretical knowledge with hands‑on expertise, and who enjoy taking ownership of complex power electronics from concept through to industrial deployment.

You will also mentor junior power electronics engineers and share your expertise with them.

Your challenge

You drive the development of advanced power electronics for AC/DC and DC/DC converters, where efficiency, performance, reliability, and manufacturability are critical. Your designs directly contribute to the scalability and robustness of Siemens eMobility charging solutions.

You go beyond simulation by ensuring your designs perform under real operating conditions. Through close involvement in prototyping, validation, and production ramp-up, you translate complex requirements into reliable, production-ready hardware.

Your role

You will join the Power Electronics team and take technical ownership across the full development lifecycle—from system architecture and design to validation and industrialization.

  • Provide technical coaching to a small engineering team
  • Design and develop power electronics for high‑power AC/DC and DC/DC converters
  • Perform system modelling, simulation, and validation
  • Create high-quality schematic diagrams, being able to make high power layout designs is a big plus
  • Define and optimize converter topologies and select key components
  • Drive performance improvements in efficiency, thermal behaviour, and system robustness
  • Lead prototyping activities and perform hands-on testing, debugging, and validation
  • Support compliance testing, reliability assessments, and certification processes
  • Collaborate with system, firmware, and mechanical teams to ensure optimal integration
  • Support industrialization, DFM/DFT optimization, and production ramp-up
  • Contribute to solving complex technical challenges in both new and existing products

This role offers strong technical ownership with a visible impact on cutting-edge EV charging systems.

Your profile

You are a senior engineer with deep expertise in power electronics and a passion for delivering robust, high-performance solutions. You have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Electronics
  • 10+ years of experience in high-power converter design with a strong system-level mindset
  • Experience designing with SiC semiconductors
  • Proficiency in high frequency magnetics design
  • Extensive experience in schematic design, experience in PCB layout is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, lab validation, and hardware debugging
  • Experience specifying hardware-software interfaces
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or equivalent
  • Experience with Altium 365 is a strong plus.
  • Experience in EV charging or similar high-power applications is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured way of working
  • Fluency in English
  • A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership

What we offer

We offer a technically challenging senior role with end‑to‑end ownership and direct impact on the global transition to electric mobility. You will work in an international, highly skilled team environment at our Eindhoven location (BIC), with hybrid working flexibility.

The position includes a competitive salary and benefits package aligned with Siemens standards, along with strong opportunities for professional growth and technical leadership within Siemens eMobility.
