Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer to transition from the Analytics team into our IT division, where you will take ownership of enterprise-level business intelligence solutions. You will design, build, and optimize Power BI dashboards and data models that drive operational visibility across healthcare revenue cycle operations. You bring existing Power BI expertise from your analytics work and will expand your skills through structured on-the-job training in IT-specific reporting, data governance, and enterprise BI architecture.

Why This Role Matters

Our leadership and operations teams rely on accurate, timely data to manage revenue cycles for healthcare providers nationwide. The dashboards and reports you build will directly influence how teams identify bottlenecks, track KPIs, and make decisions that improve patient outcomes and financial performance. Your transition from Analytics means you already understand the data — now you will shape how the entire organization sees and acts on it.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and publish Power BI reports and dashboards aligned with business requirements across healthcare revenue cycle operations

• Architect data models, establish DAX best practices, and define enterprise BI standards across teams

• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and drive quality standards for all BI deliverables

• Optimize report performance including DAX queries, data refresh schedules, and dataset management

• Connect to and integrate multiple data sources including SQL Server, Azure, APIs, SharePoint, and Excel

• Lead the migration and standardization of legacy reports to Power BI, establishing patterns for reuse

• Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage workspace access controls to protect sensitive healthcare data

• Document data sources, transformations, report specifications, and business logic for maintainability

• Partner with IT leadership and business teams to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting standards

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience with complex data models and enterprise deployments

• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and dimensional data modeling

• Experience connecting Power BI to SQL Server, Azure SQL, and cloud-based data sources

• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, fact/dimension tables)

• Experience with Power BI Service administration, gateway configuration, and deployment pipelines

• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, mentor team members, and drive standards adoption

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Databricks

• Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis and automation

• Power BI certification (PL-300 or equivalent)

• Experience with healthcare or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) data

• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements for data handling and reporting

Transfer Notes

This position is designated as an internal transfer from the Analytics department. You bring existing Power BI experience that gives you a strong foundation. On-the-job training will cover IT-specific reporting requirements, enterprise data governance standards, and advanced BI architecture patterns. A streamlined interview process applies given the internal nature of this transition.

What Success Looks Like

• In 90 days: You have audited the existing BI portfolio, published at least two enterprise-grade dashboards, and established coding and naming standards for the Power BI practice

• In 6 months: You are leading the migration of legacy reports, mentoring at least one junior developer, and your dashboards are actively used by leadership to track key revenue cycle KPIs

• Ongoing: You are the go-to BI architect for the organization, your standards are adopted across teams, and you are driving the roadmap for enterprise analytics capabilities
