The Job Role as Sr. Platform Engineer (Analytics, Data & AI)

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer/IT Engineer with strong experience in Azure services to join our team. The ideal candidate will play an important role in managing, automating, and improving our cloud infrastructure, with a focus on function apps, storages and databricks on Azure. You will collaborate closely with the development and project teams from our Analytics, Data & AI area. These platforms have a global scale.

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Virtual Networks, Subnets, Private Endpoints, Private DNS, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Event Grid, Azure Monitor, Diagnostic Settings, and Azure Container Instances.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, including self‑hosted agents, artifact management, and automated pipeline execution.
• Monitor and improve system health and performance using Prometheus, Grafana, Check_MK, Azure Monitor, and logging frameworks.
• Define, implement, and maintain security controls aligned with ISS standards (RBAC, managed identities, service principals, NSGs, secure service-to-service communication).
• Optimize infrastructure costs and performance using Azure Cost Management and related tooling.
• Develop automation and integrations using Python scripts, REST APIs, and Azure SDKs.
• Support Azure‑based data platform components, including Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables (DLT), Databricks Workflows/Jobs, and data governance/permissions.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, networking, CI/CD, and application layers.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum processes and contribute to ongoing improvements within the team.

Key qualifications:

Must have

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role focused on cloud infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including architecture fundamentals (Subscriptions, Resource Groups, networking, compute, load balancers, security, monitoring).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or GitOps tooling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Nice have

• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash), including API integrations and Azure SDK usage.
• Understanding of cost, security, and performance optimization in Azure environments.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, DLT, and data governance.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.

• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross‑functional environment.
• Strong communication skills, including direct customer interaction experience.
