Join Colgate-Palmolive, a caring, innovative growth company reimagining a healthier future for people, their pets, and our planet. Guided by our core values—Caring, Inclusive, and Courageous—we foster a culture that inspires our people to achieve common goals. Together, let's build a brighter, healthier future for all.

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and continually modernize our internal development platform using GCP native technologies and Kubernetes. This individual will partner directly with the existing Lead Senior Platform Engineer to co-drive the platform strategy, foster innovation, and lead agentic software development initiatives. This role bridges the gap between our development teams and the underlying infrastructure, enabling teams to build fast, reliable, secure, and standardized software. You will provide strategic leadership and high-level architectural oversight, empowering developers by building automated "golden paths" and self-service tools that abstract away infrastructure complexities and reduce cognitive load.

You will serve as a member of our Open Source Program Office, acting as the internal expert to build out our open source strategy and support teams on open source software adoption and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Partnership: Partner with engineering leadership to define and execute the long-term platform roadmap. Drive collaborative decision-making across the organization, influencing technical strategy and ensuring high-level architectural alignment with business goals.
  • Centralized Tooling Management: This person will be responsible for centralized platforms and tooling provided to the development teams across the organization, such as GitHub, Sentry, Sonarqube, Hashicorp Vault, Terraform and other platforms developed by the team.
  • Platform Modernization & Scaling: Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure and cloud resources within GCP. Ensure systems scale efficiently as traffic grows, continually optimizing the platform for peak performance and reliability.
  • Architecture & DevSecOps Collaboration: Partner closely with the architecture and cloud teams to develop coding standards, guidelines, and our DevSecOps process. Work across departments to ensure these standards help deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions across both traditional and modern cloud-native technologies.
  • Golden Paths & Self-Service: Create standardized workflows, "golden images/paths," and self-service options leveraging AI and modern software practices to empower development and business teams. Champion automation for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management to minimize manual tasks and errors.
  • Agentic Software & Platform Development: Lead and drive the development of team-owned platforms, including building intelligent agents for internal architecture and security review processes. Design and support advanced cloud management platforms that leverage agentic workflows to enhance organizational efficiency and security posture.
  • Kubernetes Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Manage and maintain our Kubernetes instances and containerized workloads. Provide hands-on incident management, debugging, and troubleshooting to assist teams and quickly resolve complex system issues.
  • Open Source Program Management: Define, implement, and communicate our internal and external open source strategy, policies, and management processes. Serve as the resident expert to support multi-functional teams on open source software tooling, dependency management, and best practices.
  • Security & Compliance: Integrate security directly into the platform by managing access controls, applying best practices, and ensuring that open source and internal software consistently comply with industry standards.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs, create detailed technical documentation, and lead knowledge-sharing or training sessions to reduce tribal knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a Software Engineering or Platform Engineering role.
  • Completed Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in low-level coding and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Javascript(ReactJS)) for building automations and debugging complex systems.
  • Knowledge of open source releases, dependency management tools, and version control best practices (e.g., GitHub).
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and logging tools (such as Sentry, Datadog, Grafana, or ELK) to proactively identify issues before they impact service.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge in cloud computing (GCP) and Kubernetes/container orchestration, including hands-on experience managing production clusters.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience defining development policies, standardizing workflows, and actively reducing technical debt.
  • Knowledge / Experience with AI Development tools, processes and implementation workflows.
  • A proven track record of project leadership, mentorship, and conducting training for software engineers.
  • AWS knowledge and experience
