We are seeking a subject matter expert and innovative Sr. Platform Engineer to implement end-to-end data and analytics solutions using the Microsoft Fabric platform. This role is ideal for someone with technical expertise in Microsoft’s data ecosystem who thrives in identifying platform limitations and proactively designing custom solutions to bridge functional gaps. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in automation and DevOps, enabling efficient, secure, and scalable deployment and management of analytics infrastructure.

This role will work closely with data governance, data loss prevention (DLP), and architecture teams to ensure platform compliance and data security across all solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including Engineering, Enterprise & Solutions Architects, Security teams in documenting and implementing best practices for scalable enterprise architecture, DevOps processes, and governance alignment.
  • Implement robust, scalable, and secure solutions using Microsoft Fabric components including OneLake, Data Factory, Power BI, and Real Time Analytics for future Data Intelligence platform readiness.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Fabric workspaces, capacities, and domains to support scalable enterprise analytics and data workloads.
  • Automate deployment and monitoring of Fabric solutions using DevOps best practices (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, testing frameworks, etc.).
  • Partner closely with data governance, security, and application teams to enable consistent policy enforcement and trusted data flows across multiple platforms, tools, and applications.
  • Demonstrate strong enthusiasm for working across diverse technologies and ecosystems, continuously improving how governance, metadata, and lineage are integrated into cloud, data, and application platforms.
  • Design and enhance operating platform capabilities for metadata management and data lineage, ensuring datasets are discoverable, traceable end‑to‑end, and auditable across the enterprise.
  • Implement defined role-based access control, data classification, sensitivity labeling, and auditing within the platform(s).
  • Develop reusable templates, deployment scripts, and automation workflows to accelerate and standardize project delivery.
  • Design integration solutions with other cloud and on-prem systems through custom connectors, APIs, and automation pipelines.
  • Implement workload isolation and scaling strategies to ensure reliable performance across concurrent Spark, SQL, and Power BI workloads.
  • Optimize platform capacity utilization, performance, and cost through proactive tuning, usage analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate performance issues across Spark, SQL, and Power BI workloads, collaborating with engineering and analytics teams as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills by managing dependencies, estimating effort, tracking progress, and communicating status and risks across cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 08-10 years of IT experience in data & analytics solution designs and consulting with 3-5 years in platform administration experience
  • Experience in python or spark specific coding experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft data and analytics services: Power BI, Data Factory, Spark and OneLake.
  • Background in DevOps practices, including Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • Proficiency in automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience creating or customizing solutions to extend platform capabilities.
  • Collaboration and communication skills to work across engineering, governance, and compliance teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience deploying Fabric assets using DevOps pipelines
  • Experience with agile project delivery practices
  • Experience with data governance tools and/or metadata management tools, such as Purview, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.
  • Experience with SAP systems, such as S4/Hana, SAP-MDG, SAP Datasphere, SAP Information Steward, SAP Data Services, etc.

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • Certifications considered a plus, especially those focused on data and analytics
