Salary Range: $185,000- $200,000 plus 20% Bonus
As a Plant Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving Lubrizol’s Medical Devices forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.
Our Corona facility is the flagship of our Medical Device products. The Plant Manager will be accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost and continuous improvement at the facility.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Leadership and Management
- Lead and oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, supply chain, maintenance, quality, and safety.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance plant performance and achieve operational targets.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork among staff.
- Assure a positive working environment by maintaining discipline, morale, and employee relations.
- Prepare and/or approved performance reviews, salary recommendations, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Responsibility for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, complete and on-time delivery.
- Operational Excellence
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to boost efficiency and minimize waste.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions to address deviations.
- Ensure optimal machine performance (OEE) and product quality through effective oversight.
- Propose, evaluate, and implement equipment and system improvements.
- Plan and execute capital budgets in conjunction with process engineering and plant engineering to support business expansion and improve operating costs.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain high standards of product quality and enforce quality control measures.
- Collaborate and provide leadership with the quality assurance team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Budget & Resource management
- Develop and manage the plant budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Allocate resources efficiently to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Oversee maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Balance capacity/loading across the plant.
- Determine operations’ headcount needs and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Identify, communicate and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
- Team Development
- Drive organizational transformation to establish and promote new values, culture, behaviors, and capabilities.
- Recruit, train, and develop plant personnel to build a high-performing team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching to employees.
- Foster a positive work environment and address employee concerns promptly.
- Growth Strategies
- Identify inefficiencies and develop comprehensive growth plans.
- Coordinate effectively with Sales, Marketing and Finance to understand customer dynamics and ensure plant capabilities and capacities are current, adequate and sufficient to meet projects, plans and schedules
- Execute growth initiatives, including process improvements, cost reduction strategies, and workforce optimization.
- Track and report progress on growth efforts to senior management.
- Performs other required duties as needed in addition to the essential duties and responsibilities described above
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a plant management role within the medical device industry, with career progression in manufacturing or engineering functions.
- Experience in leading large teams, driving team development and performance, and ensuring high levels of employee engagement.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions and implement change.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment.
- Proficient knowledge of ERP systems and other manufacturing software.
- Demonstrated success in delivering results within a matrix organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
- Lead by example and drive accountability throughout the organization.
- Able to meet and exceed the expectations/requirements of internal and external customers.
- Ability to organize and rally a manufacturing team toward common measurable goals.
- “Hands-on” leadership skills with strong organizational, planning, technical, communication and team building background.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward
- Advanced Degree in Engineering and or Business or related field.
- Proven track record of successfully turning around plants and driving operational improvements.
