Job Description

The Role:

As the Sr. Planning Analyst - Supply Chain Excellence, reporting to the Director of Global Supply Chain Excellence, you will be responsible for advancing enterprise planning excellence by serving as a subject matter expert and process owner for supply, inventory, capacity, S&OP/IBP, and available-to-promise processes. You will establish and strengthen global planning standards and governance, leads cross-functional continuous improvement and transformation initiatives, and partners with business and technology stakeholders to deliver system enhancements, automation, analytics, and digital planning capabilities. Through data-driven analysis, performance management, structured problem solving, and capability building, you will improve decision quality and delivers measurable gains in customer service, inventory, working capital, cost, productivity, and organizational responsiveness.

How You Will Make an Impact:

Enterprise Business Process Ownership

  • Serve as the enterprise process owner and subject matter expert for Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, S&OP / IBP, Capacity Planning, and Available-to-Promise processes.
  • Define, maintain, and continuously improve global planning standards, decision rights, process maps, operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Drive adoption of standardized planning practices across regions, business units, manufacturing sites, and planning teams.
  • Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and performance barriers, then recommend practical solutions that improve consistency, scalability, and effectiveness.
  • Establish process governance routines, compliance measures, and escalation paths to sustain planning discipline.

Strategic Continuous Improvement & Value Delivery

  • Lead strategic planning improvement initiatives with measurable impact on service performance, inventory investment, working capital, operating cost, planning productivity, and business responsiveness.
  • Develop business cases, implementation roadmaps, value estimates, and benefits tracking for improvement opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional process redesign workshops and value stream assessments involving Supply Chain, Commercial, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Customer Service, and IT.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, and change management methods to simplify processes and remove waste.
  • Track business value delivered through completed initiatives and communicate progress to functional leaders.

Planning Systems, Digital Enablement & Analytics

  • Act as the senior business representative for planning-related systems, enhancements, implementations, and digital planning capabilities.
  • Translate business needs into documented requirements, user stories, process designs, test scenarios, training materials, and adoption plans.
  • Partner with IT and external partners to improve planning tools, reporting platforms, automation, exception management, and analytics capabilities.
  • Evaluate opportunities to use advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, optimization, and planning automation to improve decision speed and quality.
  • Support user acceptance testing, deployment readiness, change impact analysis, and post-implementation stabilization.

Performance Management & Executive Insights

  • Develop and maintain planning dashboards, scorecards, KPI definitions, and performance routines that improve visibility and accountability.
  • Monitor and interpret KPIs including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, inventory turns, inventory health, OTIF / OTCC, ATP performance, service levels, schedule adherence, and planning productivity.
  • Analyze trends, root causes, and trade-offs, then recommend corrective actions and improvement priorities.
  • Provide executive-ready insights, business cases, and recommendations to support planning strategy, process design, and technology decisions.
  • Connect operational planning metrics to business outcomes including service, growth, margin, working capital, and cost.

Complex Problem Solving & Transformation Support

  • Resolve ambiguous planning and business process challenges requiring evaluation of multiple operational, financial, system, and strategic factors.
  • Assess competing priorities and recommend balanced solutions across customer service, inventory, capacity, manufacturing constraints, procurement lead times, and commercial objectives.
  • Support network optimization, business integration, portfolio changes, and transformation initiatives from a planning process perspective.
  • Develop scalable process solutions where existing standards are incomplete, inconsistent, or not yet established.
  • Influence stakeholders at multiple levels through data-driven analysis, process expertise, and structured problem solving.

Data, Governance & Capability Building

  • Support planning master data governance, data quality improvement, parameter management, and ownership models.
  • Define process controls, audit points, and performance measures that sustain planning standards.
  • Create training materials, playbooks, process documentation, and knowledge-transfer tools for planning teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Coach stakeholders on planning practices, system use, KPI interpretation, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Promote a culture of process discipline, fact-based decision-making, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Creating Extraordinary Starts With:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, Data Analytics, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive supply chain planning, supply chain excellence, business process ownership, planning transformation, or related experience.
  • Deep experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, S&OP / IBP, capacity planning, or integrated planning processes.
  • Experience supporting ERP, advanced planning system, analytics, or digital supply chain implementations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing business cases, KPI frameworks, executive reporting, process documentation, and adoption plans.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus.
