The Sr. Paralegal will manage day-to-day case activity and attorney requests, provide support to attorneys for all phases of discovery, and assist with trial logistics. The role also includes supporting staffing requests, workload distribution, and development of training programs.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:
Case Management
- Provide support to attorneys and senior paralegals for all phases of discovery, including document productions, deposition preparation, and motions practice.
- Manage day-to-day case activity and attorney requests.
- Oversee document processes including document collection, production, and redactions.
- Conduct document review for responsiveness and privilege.
- Obtain and monitor dockets and distribute updates as needed.
- Support with expert and witness depositions, and expert reports.
- Maintain logs for document production, privilege documents, deposition transcripts and deposition exhibits.

- Assist with custodian interviews, expert and witness depositions, and expert reports.
- Conduct due diligence and research.
- Assist with drafting and preparing legal documents for attorney review including the preparation of briefs and supporting documents.
- Perform fact checking, cite checking, Bluebooking and Shepardizing.
- Maintain database records such as, correspondence, record file, etc.
- Utilize AI-powered tools (including Harvey) to support discovery, document review, and drafting workflows, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Trials, Hearings, and Arbitrations
- Assist with trial logistics: including hotel space, supplies, copiers/printers, transportation, coordinate with IS for network set-up and set-up of trial war room.
- Organize and prepare files, witness kits, presentation materials and demonstratives.
- Compile, organize and mark exhibits for trial.
- Take notes, track exhibit usage, track timing, prepare index of all trial exhibits introduced and interact professionally with witnesses.
- Properly and promptly dispose of documents for archives, record retention or destruction. Secure certificates of destruction.
- Assist with preparation of Record on Appeal when necessary.
Administrative
- Support manager/coordinator with staffing requests, distribution of workload and development of training programs.
- Set team priorities for filings and briefs to maximize efficiency, meet deadlines and anticipate requirements.
- Work with attorney team to formulate and implement discovery plans and communicate conflicts; act as lead during complex discovery projects.
- Train and mentor junior paralegals.
- Participate in recruiting efforts in screening and interviewing candidates.
- Any additional responsibilities as required by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 5+ years of experience in large law firm setting.
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe and Relativity.
- Demonstrate technical skills consistent with new and existing technology, including Adobe, SharePoint, Relativity, Opus2, Pacer Pro, Lexis and Westlaw.
- Proficiency in filing procedures, especially in Federal, State and Local Court and in utilizing systems such as PACER (aka NextGen) and ECF.
- Familiarity with AI-driven legal tools.
- Proficiency in Bluebook rules, Shepardizing and cite checking.
- Work efficiently with firm support services (i.e., Conference Center, Reprographics, LSS, Library, Trial Graphics, etc.).
- Comply with the Firm's outside vendor policies
- Proactive self-starter who understands the details within the larger context.
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments and prioritize accordingly.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills and must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently and graciously with Associates, Partners, Paralegals and all staff members.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with strong academic record.
Estimated hourly rate range is $68.68 - $82.41 ($125,000 - $150,000 annually). This position is overtime and bonus eligible. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
