Job Description

The Sr Packer is responsible for performing shipping, receiving, material movement, and packing operations while ensuring inventory accuracy and compliance with quality and safety standards. This role directly supports internal and external customers and contributes to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality objectives. The Sr Packer works in a fast‑paced warehouse environment and plays a key role in supporting daily logistics operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, and label customer orders in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and shipping requirements
  • Read and interpret packing lists and work instructions to determine correct items and quantities
  • Inspect products to ensure items are free from damage or defects prior to shipment
  • Wrap, pack, secure, seal, and label materials using appropriate packing and cushioning materials
  • Assemble, prepare, and load cartons, containers, or pallets for shipment
  • Perform receiving, replenishment, and inventory movement activities in compliance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) procedures
  • Conduct routine inventory checks and report discrepancies to supervision
  • Operate packaging equipment and material-handling tools such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, order pickers, and forklifts
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and safety expectations
  • Follow all company quality systems, safety policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Address routine operational issues using established procedures and escalate concerns as appropriate
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, logistics, or data entry
  • Working knowledge of inventory control and material handling principles
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment (floor jack, hand truck, order picker, forklift)

Physical & Working Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, move, and adjust materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, and ramps
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for most of the shift
  • Ability to operate warehouse machinery and equipment safely
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for packing, labeling, inspection, and computer use
  • No travel required

The estimated salary range for this role in the state of Missouri is between $18.50 and $28.20 This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
