The role of the “Sr. Packaging Engineer” will be to develop and implement Packaging Innovation, renovation, value leadership, supply security/resilient for Chips/Cereal/Ice Cream categories. Packaging Innovation (Packaging Development) has been recognized as a key business driver within Mars Snacking, and this role will contribute to the growth of the company. The Sr. Packaging Engineer will work in a dynamic, fast paced, highly collaborative, & cross-functional environment where creativity, leadership, and a self-motivated drive for excellence & results will be necessary.
What are we looking for?
•BS/MS degree in packaging engineer or equivalent
•Previous working experience in Foods or FMCG company (3+ years), good knowledge of snacking would be preferred, experience in project management and technical influence are desirable
•Strong understands of China snacking industry, market, channel & consumer
•Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
•Good at written & oral English
•Goal and action-oriented, self-motivated, proactive, fast learning, work under pressure, curious for technology & obsess on consumer and customer insight
What will be your key responsibilities?
•Packaging innovation and development for Chips/Cereal/Ice Cream category, sit in cross functional project team (marketing, supply, commercial, quality and etc.) as independent packaging spoke in innovation, renovation, value leadership, supply security/resilient projects;
•Follow innovation process and be responsible for quality delivery of each packaging development tasks based on project timeline - prototyping, structure development, material qualification, factory trial and required documentation etc.; ensure packaging solution compliance with China local regulatory and corporate internal standard or policy;
•Lead the activities and discussion under packaging development scope, conduct technical risk assessment, lead change management discussion etc.;
•Monitoring competitive market and channel landscape, ensure robust translation of consumer insights and pain points for packaging development;
•Iterate and rapid prototyping for packaging innovation ideas. Actively leverage internal or external AI and state-of-art tooling/system in daily work;
•Work closely with cross functions to provide consolidated technical fundamentals to support brand activities, consumer complaints, manufacturing and quality problem solving;
•Proactively build and maintain good relationship with key internal or external stakeholders, external suppliers and partners.
