
This role provides technical leadership for operational technology (OT) and industrial automation environments across multiple manufacturing sites. You’ll lead complex initiatives involving industrial networks, control systems, and modernized OT platforms while serving as a key bridge between plant operations, engineering, and enterprise IT.
Lead complex OT initiatives including industrial network architecture, server and application migrations, and plant-level infrastructure modernization with minimal oversight
Review technical designs and deliverables produced by OT and controls engineers, providing guidance and quality assurance
Coach and support IT teams on plant-floor infrastructure, operational systems, and manufacturing technology environments
Design, implement, and support standardized industrial networking frameworks across multiple production facilities
Act as a senior technical resource for manufacturing sites, assisting with advanced troubleshooting, system optimization, and automation-driven performance improvements
Drive adoption of IT/OT standards, governance, and best practices across geographically distributed locations
Administer, upgrade, and support industrial automation platforms including SCADA and distributed control systems
Support the rollout and ongoing management of containerized applications within OT environments
Lead modernization efforts such as control system expansions, application migrations, platform integrations, and deployment of modern workloads
Apply knowledge of PLCs, industrial PCs, virtual machines, and industrial network architectures to real-world manufacturing environments
Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, IT, leadership, and third-party partners to support production systems
Develop technical scopes, solution designs, material lists, and cost estimates; provide clear status updates throughout project lifecycles
Promote automation, orchestration, and resiliency as core principles in solution design
Evaluate environments against industry best practices and present findings and improvement recommendations to technology leadership
Maintain working knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards applicable to manufacturing operations
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support operational and business objectives
Approximately 25–50% travel (generally up to one week per month)
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation systems, OT infrastructure, or related environments
Hands-on experience administering and supporting SCADA and/or DCS platforms
Experience with industrial control applications and visualization systems
Strong understanding of industrial networking concepts including switches, firewalls, segmentation, and VLANs
Experience designing and supporting virtualized server environments
Working knowledge of IT/OT cybersecurity principles and controls
Ability to obtain required certifications or licenses as part of the role
Deep knowledge of IT/OT integration frameworks and industrial network reference models
Experience troubleshooting PLC and HMI-based automation solutions
Formal training or certification in modern SCADA platforms
Exposure to control panel design, power distribution concepts, and hardware specification
Hands-on experience with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
