This is the Second or highest level of the Work Management Specialist (WMS) classification. A WMS supports the work management process by performing critical activities such as developing schedules that integrate all tasks at the nuclear sites, coordinates/communicates during the preparation and execution phase of work, monitors/tracks progress of activities, prepares reports, and ensures that lessons learned are captured and evaluated to ensure continuous improvement. This is accomplished with minimal supervision. In time, incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and work with greater independence.
• Develops schedules or reports that integrates work for all stations groups (OPS, MNT, Chemistry, etc.). Resolves schedule conflicts and problems with support of station groups such that personnel, nuclear, and radiological risk is minimized and efficiency is maximized.
• Coordinates and communicates during the preparation and execution phase of work to ensure activities can be accomplished as scheduled.
• Leads multi-discipline special project teams or meetings as they relate to the Work Management Process.
• Monitors and tracks progress of work planning/scheduling during the preparation phase and during the work execution phase to ensure that problems are immediately identified and resolved such that Work Management goals are achieved.
• Ensures emergent work is appropriately prioritized and aggressively pursued to minimize impact on the Work Management and Risk Management process.
• Ensures that lessons learned related to the Work Management process are captured in the corrective action program and ultimately factored in such that continuous improvement is ensured.
