About the Team

The Trade Payable team is responsible for the Accounts Payable (AP) function, ensuring operational excellence, process efficiency, and effective stakeholder collaboration. Translating broader business objectives into actionable plans and deliverables.

Drive accuracy, timeliness, KPI performance, and control compliance across assigned processes while supporting accounting discussions, process design, root cause analysis, issue resolution, and system or operational enhancements. Proactively identify risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies, implementing mitigation plans and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence. Oversee core business deliverables, ensure seamless project execution, and optimize processes through strategic efficiency improvements. Collaborate closely with business, product, and technology teams to align operational processes with organizational goals and business requirements.

  • Define the team’s vision and strategic direction, translating broader business objectives into actionable plans and deliverables.
  • Lead talent management activities including hiring, engagement, development, and retention of the Merchandising Operations team.
  • Ensure effective workload allocation and timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with business, product, and technology teams to meet operational and strategic objectives.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and partner teams in the US (Mooresville/Boucherville).
  • Establish, track, and communicate metrics related to vendor contract activities and operational performance.
  • Implement and institutionalize metrics that drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Design and maintain well-defined processes that deliver consistent and measurable results.
  • Develop robust Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) to address potential operational risks and disruptions.

Transformation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Leads automation, simplification, and standardization efforts.
  • Focused on root cause identification and elimination, not just surface-level fixes.
  • Builds scalable processes that support long-term growth or the org and Lowe’s.

Years of Experience:

  • Overall 12+ years of experience in accounting with a strong understanding of best practices in the same field and preference to prior Procure to Pay Operations (AP) Process/Retail.
  • 4+ years of leadership experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams (direct repartees)
  • 7+ years of experience driving complex projects with competing priorities and deadlines

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree (Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field)

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

Key Skills: Expertise in Accounts Payable operations, Global stakeholder management, People management (managed a team size of 10 or more), Project Management, Tech Advancement (AI implementation)

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Expertise in Accounts Payable operations, stakeholder management, and people management
  • Strong reporting, analytics, and metric-driven approach
  • Experience in Retail and/or Accounts Payable/Receivable operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Strong project management capabilities with experience managing end-to-end initiatives
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams
  • Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to understand key business drivers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business tools
  • Strong decision-making skills, sound judgment, and business acumen
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
