Job Description

About the Team

The Rider Operations team in Germany serves as the operational engine driving growth across one of Uber’s most key European markets. Operating at the intersection of analytical root cause analysis, strategy, and local execution, this cross-functional team owns the full rider journey—from top-of-funnel acquisition to premium loyalty activations and high-density venue operations.

About the Role

Uber is looking for a Strategic Operations Manager to join our Germany Country Team, a group dedicated to shaping the future of mobility in one of our most critical "Star" markets.

This role sits at the intersection of long-term strategy and real-time execution. You will lead the dual engine of Germany’s expansion: identifying and scaling high-impact Growth Bets (Teens, Seniors, Courier, Health) and driving Rider Growth across premium product lines, memberships, and loyalty partnerships.

You will collaborate with Product, Marketing, and City Ops to ensure that every rider and driver experience is seamless, whether they are leaving a sold-out stadium or discovering a new Uber product for the first time.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Rider Growth Engine: Architect and optimise top-of-funnel and in-funnel rider acquisition, conversion, and resurrection strategies to build the most efficient growth funnel across Germany
  • Drive Premium, Membership & Loyalty: Grow Uber One and the premium LOB mix in Germany. Operationalise loyalty and membership partnerships on the ops side so we actually capture the value we signed up for — e.g. fintech and rewards partners such as Revolut and Air Miles programmes — covering enrolment flows, benefit delivery, redemption tracking and partner reporting.
  • Fuel Growth Bets: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of new product initiatives (i.e Courrier, Health, Teens, Senior) You’ll translate market insights into actionable strategies, moving from ideation to launch and scaling high-impact opportunities that hit revenue targets.
  • Analyse & Optimise: Define the KPIs that matter. You will track performance metrics conversion, reliability, and ROI and continuously iterate to improve the experience.
  • Operationalise Partnerships: Ensure our consumer-facing campaigns turn brand partnerships into measurable demand. You’ll build the "playbooks" that allow these partnerships to scale across the country
  • Collaborate across the "Forest & Trees": Balance high-level strategic planning with the nitty-gritty of daily operations. You’ll work with leadership to set the direction for Germany while ensuring standard operating procedures are flawless.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience: 4–6 years of experience in strategic operations, management consulting, tech operations, or program management.
  • Project Management Mastery: Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects. You can turn ambiguous requirements into structured, scalable processes.
  • Operational Rigor: You have a "get it done" mindset and are comfortable translating strategy into detailed execution plans with clear outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage external partners and internal teams with diverse perspectives.
  • Language: Business-level fluency in German and English.
  • Analytical Depth: Strong data skill & experience with SQL. You are comfortable using data to derive recommendations and aren't afraid to dive into the details.
  • Strategic Agility: The ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment while keeping the "big picture" in mind.

Ready to Ride?

This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook — it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves — we'd love to hear from you.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
