About the Role

As a member of the Vertical Operations team, you will drive strategic oversight for the South Cone (SoCo) region This role focuses on tracking vital Marketplace KPIs across various cities, analyzing performance trends, and designing bespoke initiatives to maintain a robust ecosystem throughout these markets. By synthesizing data into actionable insights, you will ensure long-term platform health and operational excellence across all regional hubs.

Beyond monitoring, you will act as the regional subject matter expert for technical integration. This involves vetting and executing the rollout of experimental features and new tools, serving as the primary bridge between local needs and global innovations. As the designated point of contact for technical inquiries, you will translate complex marketplace mechanics into successful regional implementations.

You will work closely with Central Operations and will be responsible for maintaining strong, fluid, and effective communication between Local Operations and Central Operations. Some of the topics that this person will cover: Pricing opportunities, Segmentation Products, Reliability, Pricing tools.

What the Candidate Will Do

  1. Strategic Ownership: Proactively identify business needs and issues. Prioritize among projects to define the best path to meet strategic objectives and complete it. Deliver valuable information to teams with strategic proposals to achieve operational efficiency.
  2. Business Sense: Translate insights from operational and financial metrics into strategy and action plans. Develop and apply understanding of the levers that move our business. Understand the industry and act effectively in order to anticipate potential changes
  3. Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend the best approach. Develop innovative "thinking outside the box" solutions to deliver essential decision-making information to leadership teams
  4. Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes across our region.
  5. Product Improvement: Propose features or improvements that could improve the experience on and efficiency of our marketplace, measuring their impact and prioritizing them, in order to advocate for their development.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Years of Experience/Industries ​​ 5+ years of professional experience.
  2. Data-Driven Mentality: Make strategic decisions based on data analysis and interpretation. Experience getting in the weeds of data, balanced with the ability to see the big picture
  3. Communication: Spanish and English proficiency. Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner
  4. Teamwork: Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and work well in a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreement
  5. Executional Excellence: Ability to optimally manage and prioritize complex operations that require the support of peers and other teams, and deliver results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards
  6. Planning & Organization: Ability to plan complex or multi-faceted projects with cross-functional teams, defining timelines, deliverables, interdependencies, and resource allocation
  7. Marketplace & Financial Judgment: Able to assess trade-offs across demand, supply, and economics; anticipate downstream marketplace impacts; and prioritize actions that protect both service quality and P&L performance.
  8. Bias for Execution: Comfortable making calibrated decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and driving pricing or marketplace levers forward with incomplete data when needed.
  9. Influence Without Authority: Builds trust with cross-functional stakeholders through clear reasoning, strong analytical grounding, and reliable follow-through—enabling alignment on city-level strategies and actions.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Expertise in Data Analytics with spreadsheets as a MUST and Coding (SQL mainly) as a preferred/nice-to-have.
  2. Experience managing P&Ls while great knowledge of marketplaces (demand & supply)
