Compensation Range:

$89,692.00 - $125,556.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Works collaboratively with nursing leadership and key stakeholders of technology, the department of Information Technology, and all other departments or groups, across the enterprise, as necessary, in spearheading the planning, designing, developing, training, implementing, communicating, maintaining and evaluating, existing or new functionality and technology related to the digital health system of the enterprise. This includes but is not limited to the electronic health record, clinical and administrative applications and related technology tools utilized by clinicians to support workflow, business operations and care delivery. Requires travel across URMC region and affiliates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads projects, develops and executes project work plans and revises, as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements. Tracks status of work plans, resources and deliverables for individual projects. Rolls up project information for overall program coordination, reporting and communication. Uses project management skills to evaluate, track and implement clinical informatics projects.
  • Leads current and future state workflow analysis and process revisions, of both automated and manual components of the electronic health record (EHR), clinical applications and related clinical and digital technology tools in support of standardized, enterprise-wide clinical practice.
  • Uses data analytics and reporting tools to evaluate and demonstrative impacts of informatics and technology on practice and outcomes.
  • Serves as primary informatics expert in the implementation and evaluation of technology on practice, operational and clinical outcomes.
  • Coordinates and manages with affiliated informatics leads, approved change requests and works with IT department in processing, tracking, testing and communicating changes to the enterprise nursing community.
  • Consults with IT leads to provide guidance to nursing leadership (CNO, directors, managers, and Nursing committees), clinical and departmental stakeholders in the continuous maintenance and use of digital health tools. Works closely with IT, training teams, nursing professional development and practice committees in designing training and strategies to promote clinical adoption of new or revised workflow and/or use of technology. Works closely with enterprise leadership in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of enterprise-wide Clinical Information Systems (CIS) and other related clinical, administrative and digital technology.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current trends and issues in healthcare, nursing practice, healthcare informatics, national and state-wide standards and regulations, enterprise policies and procedures, and the legal implication of the CIS as related to clinical practice. Maintains a detailed understanding and working knowledge of the EHR, clinical and administrative applications and related digital platforms, and functions and relationships to other information systems within the enterprise.
  • Oversees the nursing informatics councils under the CNIO guidance in collaboration with nursing leadership using a shared governance model in the evaluation of changes, processing user feedback, responding to requests and concerns from stakeholders or others affected by the digital health system.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 3 years experience with knowledge of current clinical practice standards of models of care include The Joint Commission (TJC), NYSDOH and other regulatory agency requirements required
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in NYS upon hire required
  • Informatics American Nurses Credentialing Center approved national board certification within 1 year of hire required
