Requirement:

  • Manages project staff and workload of direct reports Responsible for resourcing and administrative oversight of assigned projects as well as training mentoring and guiding project staff direct reports.

  • Provides training and mentoring to junior managers Manages staff which may include interviewing and selection job description preparation professional development goal setting performance management coaching and mentoring employee counseling and separations.

  • Approves courses of action on salary administration hiring corrective action and terminations Reviews and approves time records expense reports requests for leave and overtime.

  • Ensures staff compliance with documented procedures. May participate in business development activities including timely input to budgets and proposals for data management activities and presenting data management strategy at bid defense meetings.

  • Participates in the formation and implementation of strategic department development plans and initiatives.

  • Assists senior management with the formation and implementation of strategic development plans for the department Manages resourcing allocations for all assigned staff within DM portfolio includes global resourcing reporting.

  • May review RFPs and or budgets for assigned studies.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the job comparable to 8 years and 2 years of management responsibility. Ability to effectively apply knowledge and skills in a highly organized fashion while adhering to regulatory guidelines SOPs and client expectations.

Strong attention to detail and skill with numbers.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent analytical problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with clinical data and clients proprietary data.

Strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to act as a study or department expert for DM processes.

Ability to effectively manage and motivate others and to effectively supervise and delegate tasks.

Ability to set and meet for self and team timelines or be able to recognize and schedule changes in response to project demands Interprets and administers policies processes and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units.

Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and or resolve technical problems. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility Manager role with significantly larger management scope (EG) global or regional responsibilities or multiple departments OR mastery of manager skills and responsibilities as demonstrated by consistent multiyear successful performance.

In some instances may be responsible for a functional area as determined by executive management and not have subordinate supervisors or employees Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives Work is reviewed upon completion for meeting timelines adequacy and objectives Interacts frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels. Participates and may present at meetings with internal and external representatives Interaction typically concerns resolution of operational and scheduling issues concerning projects and or contractual clarifications.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.

Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels both domestic and international.

Frequently stationary for 6 - 8 hours per day.

Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast simple repeated movements of the fingers hands and wrists.

Moderate mobility required Occasional crouching stooping bending and twisting of upper body and neck.

Light to moderate lifting and carrying or otherwise moves objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 1520 lbs.

Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both inhouse and off the shelf.

Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Frequently interacts with others relates sensitive information to diverse groups both internally externally Ability to apply basic principles to solve conceptual issues.

Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.

Ability to perform under stress.
