As Mechanical Technician you are responsible for supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment on Cummins engines and associated machinery within the power plant. This role ensures equipment reliability, performs routine preventive maintenance, and assists in minimizing downtime to support continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
-Assist in routine inspections, diagnostics, and repair of Cummins engines and related mechanical components.
-Support corrective and preventive maintenance activities, including component replacements, oil changes, filters, and gasket repairs.
-Troubleshoot mechanical faults, perform repairs, and support root cause analysis under supervision.
Equipment Monitoring & Records:
-Monitor mechanical system parameters and document operational data.
-Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed.
Safety & Compliance:
-Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations during maintenance activities.
-Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools.
-Participate in safety meetings, drills, and ongoing safety training.
Team Collaboration & Support:
-Work closely with senior technicians and supervisors to ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.
-Assist in the training and guidance of junior team members and trainees.
-Material & Inventory Management:
-Assist in managing spare parts and tools inventory.
-Report shortages or damaged parts to ensure timely replacements.
Continuous Improvement:
-Support initiatives for equipment reliability improvement.
-Participate in troubleshooting, analysis, and implementation of technical solutions.
Qualifications & Skills:
-Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of [8] years of experience working with mechanical systems, preferably with Cummins engines or in power generation.
-Good understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and engine components.
-Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance procedures.
-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
-Good communication and teamwork abilities.
-Willing to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime if needed.
-Physically capable of performing maintenance in various environments.
-Committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
