Sr. Mechanical Project Engineer (On - Site)

About the Role

Cuhaci Peterson is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join the team in Orlando, FL. This role is responsible for the implementation of engineering projects, including construction documents, permitting, bidding, and construction administration. The individual will serve as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants while ensuring design quality and budget adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement engineering projects, including construction documents, coordination, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
• Ensure high levels of quality assurance for construction documents, specifications, and RFI responses.
• Research and develop designs in coordination with vendors and senior staff.
• Discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, and site issues with Project Architects and Managers.
• Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete project design requirements.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Ensure coordination between architectural and engineering disciplines.
• Oversee the design and production of engineering construction documents and specifications.
• Maintain company and client standards.
• Anticipate and resolve issues as they arise.
• Provide ongoing quality control and perform peer reviews of documents.
• Oversee project budget setup and completion of work within allotted time.
• Communicate owner revisions and RFIs.
• Represent client interests at public hearings and meetings.
• Provide customer service to maintain client relationships.
• Mentor and train engineering designers.
• Motivate, develop, and direct team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10-15 years of work experience as a licensed engineer.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Ability to serve as Engineer of Record in several states.
• Excellent knowledge of discipline-specific codes and building codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Revit/AutoCad knowledge.
• Proficiency in engineering modeling tools.
