Job Description

The Senior Manager, Marketing Procurement will be responsible for building marketing category strategies and managing sourcing activity in support of Constellation Brands’ business objectives and growth strategies. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director, Marketing Procurement, and will lead a team managing the procurement activities around assigned Marketing categories, including trade marketing, experiential, consumer insights, e-commerce, sponsorships, and innovation. This position works closely with the marketing functions and cross-functional teams across the organization to maximize the return on the company’s significant investment in marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Developing a strategic plan to drive incremental value and extended ROI for the assigned categories based on an understanding of business and stakeholder needs and priorities, the supply market, benchmarking, price availability, etc.
  • Working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to nurture and develop relationships with Constellation Brands’ external agencies and supply partners and optimize partner performance.
  • Leading the design and implementation of comprehensive sourcing plans and strategies to ensure our marketing investment is as efficient and effective as possible.
  • Developing and improving upon existing internal and external processes to simplify, standardize, and scale ways of working and best practices, including properly tracking and communicating efficiencies across the various spend activities.
  • Leading the benchmarking, RFP/RFI, and bidding process, negotiating pricing/terms and conditions, and final contract award and implementation. Proactively managing vendor contract life cycle to prepare the organization for contract renegotiations or renewals.
  • Maintaining adequate sources of supply to ensure that the requirements of the category are met with the optimum quality, service, and total cost-to-use.
  • Driving the tactical execution of the day-to-day plan to deliver consistent and sustainable savings.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal guidelines and external regulations and requirements relating to responsible categories, e.g., finance policy, procurement policy, legal policy, code of conduct, etc.
  • Providing innovative sourcing solutions to the business by bringing continuous improvement and market driven innovation and offering credible alternatives where applicable.
  • Maintaining a motivated, high-performing Marketing Procurement team. Responsible for all mentoring, training, and development as well as periodic and annual reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience with proven record of accomplishment and increasing responsibility in Procurement Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Consulting, or Marketing/Agency Disciplines
  • Expertise with sourcing strategy development in the marketing category or relevant indirect spend categories, including in-depth knowledge of supplier relationship management best practices, category terminology and contract negotiation.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with a high degree of business acumen
  • Highly self-motivated, flexible, and ability to work with ambiguity, with a strong internal drive for results.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading high-performing teams (Category Managers, Category Analysts, and Sourcing Specialists)
  • Ability to influence collaboratively and bring out the best in partners, in a fast-paced team environment.
  • A high degree of problem-solving capability and the ability to drive change.
  • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal, and communication skills, and comfort working with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with strong negotiation management experience. A good understanding of project management methodologies and e-procurement processes and tools
  • Proven track record in delivery of complex, cross-functional procurement initiatives on-time and on-budget
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the internal organization and with suppliers to solve problems when facing evolving demands.
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging company-wide spend by ensuring implementation of complex agreements.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of strategic sourcing processes, organization, technology
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, personal accountability, and ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); proficiency in Source-to-pay tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters (MBA) preferred.
  • CPG experience preferred.
  • Nationally recognized professional certification preferred (Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional Contract Manager)

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods. Lifting may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

The salary range for this role is:

$113,500.00 - $177,600.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. At Constellation Brands, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
