of Role
Oversee the production process of assigned product lines; manage the product line transfer from other sites as project manager; develop, revise and update process documents following the standard changing process; lead the prototype production and FAI builds; equipment management to ensure the efficient operation of the processing critical equipment. Working with design, quality, operation, maintenance and other functions to ensure the improvement of product flow process. Engage in automation project to improve the overall productivity.
Work location: Kulim High Tech Park, Kedah, Malaysia
Key Responsibilities of Role:
• Oversee the production process of assigned product lines, resolve issues and work on improvement projects.
• Develop, revise and update the process documents following the standard changing process.
• Lead the prototype manufacturing, FAI, and product improvement in terms of process and manufacturing.
• Participate in the opportunity review meetings to provide professional feedbacks regarding the tooling / fixture / mold required for the new product manufacturing and the related cost.
• Prepare the part and the assembly drawings for the tooling / fixture; identify the proper vendor; and follow up with the schedule and cost to make sure they are made on time and within budget.
• Perform tooling / fixture testing before the production use, write the work instruction if needed and train the production employees.
• Develop expertise in equipment management to ensure the efficient operation of processing and critical equipment, minimizing downtime and boosting productivity through the implementation of best practices.
• Enhance the training and development of key equipment operators and maintenance personnel by tailoring programs for the maintenance and production teams. This will elevate their skills in handling complex equipment, leading to fewer errors and accidents.
• Project management focusing on new product line transfer.
• To conduct/ coordinate process changes in terms of Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery improvement and New Product Development.
• Serve as a liaison between the Utility, Production, and Plant Maintenance teams, facilitating smooth communication and coordination to optimize overall plant efficiency.
• Maximize resource utilization, reduce waste, and improve sustainability by optimizing energy and material usage, contributing to Watlow’s sustainability goals.
• Analyze product yield and liaise improvement plan.
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for future investments and technological upgrades, playing a key role in strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives.
• Promote documentation standardization by product development in accordance with new product development.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or manufacturing) with 2+ years of industrial experience in related field.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process standardization and optimization.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills, with the ability to perform under pressure and adapt to change.
• Results-driven, process-focused, committed to quality and timeliness in a dynamic global setting.
• Good ability to present data and idea effectively.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
