This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer(ME)familiarwith theRocket EnginesintheTesting Environmenttocollaborate with other ME expertstoestablishcommon standards and help move the team forward with forward leaning advancements and technologies. This person will be a member of the group responsible for planning key initiatives and represent the ME function within the group and cross functionally across organization.
In this key role, you willestablishstandards forthe development and implementation of manufacturing processeswithin a testing environment- including design for manufacturability, work instruction creation, tooling procurement support, process planning,configuration management,and configuration of efficient work cells. You will test out new technologies and take part in long-term planning activities to support detailed preparation for scaling our business to meet growing demand.

Operate as the SME on theStrategicPlanningteam infacilitatingeffective decision-making on complicated scenarios that will have a significant effecton the future of the team.
Establish the standards forthe development of fabrication specifications, acceptance & test plans, maintenance plans, and Statements of Work
Responsible for defining and developing critical manufacturing processes and steps required for the configuration management, repair, assembly, integration, and testing
Leadingkaizen and otherprocessimprovement workshopsand initiativeswithin all of Test Operations
TeamFocus & Domain Expertise:
TheDomain responsibility includesthe successful processing of Blue Origin rocket engines from the production line through acceptance testing of the engines andpost testinspections. The team takes the testing plans, maintenance, and processes for each engine and translates them into executable work instructions for the Engine Technician team. The team isdirectly responsiblefor the configuration of the engine from the end of the production line to the delivery to customer. In this role you will help define and improve the processes supporting broader company level improvementinitiativiesand rolling them out within the testing environment.Thisworkdirectlyimpactsthe delivery of flight hardware to the New Glenn launch vehicle for launching into space. We are looking for a passionateengineertodrive standardization, drive up efficiency, solve complexproblems, andpush boundaries as we drive towards a highly efficient acceptance testing process.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university
7+ years of manufacturingor testexperience
Expert level experience in hardware manufacturing: assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, final acceptance testing of integrated hardware, fabrication, machining, etc.
Substantial experience with Design for Manufacturing/Integration principles.
Substantial experience with configuration management, requirements management processes, requirements change processes, and risk management processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Provenfamiliarity with AI tools and their use in a manufacturing environment
Strong digital literacy (MS Office, Jira, Confluence)
Must be eligible and able to gain access to Redstone Arsenal
Familiarity with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)
Ability to travel up to 25% of your time toother test sites
Willingness to shift work schedules to support testing operations asrequired
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in engineering,businessor project management
Prior experience leading manufacturing engineers or similar
4+years experienceina testingenvironment
Lean Six SigmaGreen Beltcertification
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience with Process flow mapping
Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies
Experience in human rated aerospace vehicles
Experience with hazardous operations involving cryogenics, pneumatics, and electrical
Substantial proven record in a wide variety of hardware including but not limited to: Multi-componentand system assembly, bonding/adhesives,machiningand electrical components
Substantial experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle of spacecraft, launch-vehicle, or high-performanceaircraftsystems
