Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA/CAPA) efforts for production issues, scrap, and nonconformances using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and fishbone diagrams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., value stream mapping, kaizen events, SMED, 5S).
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing process plans, tooling, fixtures, and equipment requirements, and by participating in design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews.
- Create and maintain PFMEAs, control plans, and process flow diagrams; support PPAP and other customer/quality documentation as required.
- Specify, justify, procure, and qualify new equipment and tooling; manage small-to-mid-size capital projects from concept through installation and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable).
- Analyze production data (OEE, cycle time, yield, scrap) to identify improvement opportunities and track project results.
- Develop and optimize plant layouts, line balancing, and material flow to support capacity and takt time requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering on process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), gauge R&R, and statistical process control (SPC) implementation.
- Provide hands-on floor support and technical troubleshooting for production equipment and processes; serve as an escalation point for technicians and operators.
- Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Ensure processes comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools; demonstrated success leading process improvement projects.
- Experience creating and maintaining process documentation (work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, process flows).
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for tooling, fixture, and layout design.
- Strong data analysis skills using Excel; familiarity with statistical tools such as Minitab is preferred.
- Solid understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and measurement techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese; good working proficiency in English (written and spoken) for collaboration with international teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to work hands-on on the production floor and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
