About the team and the role
The Transportation Operations & Carrier Execution team leads all aspects of transportation flows throughout eBay’s European network. They coordinate the movement of shipments into and out of network facilities and across Pick-Up/Drop-Off (PUDO) locations. Their work ensures operations are reliable, efficient, and scalable across various markets.
The Senior Manager, Transport & Carrier Ops (EU) will lead operational execution and performance management across the transportation network. This role focuses on driving operational excellence through ownership of critical metrics, issue resolution, collaboration across functions, and ongoing improvement efforts. The position works closely with teams across Operations, Product, Customer Experience, Finance, warehouse facilities, carrier partners, and external network partners to support consistent service performance and scalable growth.
The position directs transportation operations across multiple European markets, balancing service performance, operational efficiency, and network scalability.
What you will accomplish
Coordinate day-to-day transportation operations across inbound and outbound network flows, ensuring reliable execution across facilities and PUDO locations.
Monitor transportation capacity, shipment flows, and carrier execution performance to support efficient and scalable network operations.
Work alongside carrier and network partners to improve operational performance, tackle service issues, and guarantee steady fulfillment of agreed service levels.
Identify operational bottlenecks, lead issue resolution efforts, and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring disruptions.
Define, track, and report on transportation benchmarks including timely performance, efficiency, scan compliance, and exception management.
Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement across markets and network nodes.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve operational processes, service quality, and execution scalability.
Communicate performance insights, operational risks, and improvement initiatives to collaborators and leadership teams.
What you will bring
Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations within a complex operational environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights.
Experience managing operational performance through tracking, reporting, and structured management of critical metrics.
Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and multi-country collaborator groups.
Proficiency in English and at least one additional European language.
Collaborative and self-motivated approach, with strong ownership and accountability.
Experience in e-commerce, marketplace logistics, warehouse operations, or last-mile/PUDO networks is advantageous.
