The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

Lead Corning's IT sourcing strategy at the intersection of business, technology, and supplier partnership. As Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing IT, you'll set category strategy across all Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) spend software, hardware, telecom, and managed services and drive innovation, cost efficiency, and value creation alongside IT and business leadership.

This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced procurement professional who thrives in matrixed environments, brings deep IT category expertise, and is energized by transforming how procurement gets done.

Primary Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute IT sourcing strategy across software, hardware, telecom, and managed services — aligning procurement to business objectives, market trends, and cost/value goals.
  • Lead and develop a global team of procurement professionals (NAM, APAC, and LATAM), providing mentorship and clear performance expectations to drive results.
  • Lead complex supplier negotiations and contract management — drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and managing renewal cycles to mitigate risk and capture value.
  • Build and own supplier relationships and SLAs, focusing on service delivery, quality, reliability, and responsiveness; resolve service issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Achieve KPIs across cost, cash, supply, and service, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies (data privacy, information protection, ethics, buying policy, code of conduct).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or technical field (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience with a proven track record of results
  • Deep knowledge of IT software, hardware, and services procurement (SAP, Ariba, PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing procurement teams
  • Strong negotiation and contracting expertise — particularly in complex IT agreements
  • Experience leading in matrixed, cross-functional environments
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and stakeholder influence skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Project management experience focused on procurement or supply chain initiatives
  • Global, multi-national business experience
  • Supplier Relationship Management experience
  • Procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, ISM)
  • Experience driving procurement transformation or category innovation

  • This position can be based in Charlotte, NC or Corning, NY (HQ) - (HYBRID)

The range for this position is $155,614.00 - $213,969.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
