Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager of Portfolio Operations & Delivery Excellence to lead operational transformation, delivery governance, planning excellence, and vendor management across a Transmission portfolio of Grid Software products.

This leader will establish and drive a scalable operating model across multiple product and engineering teams, including teams managed by partner organizations. The role is responsible for defining portfolio-level standard work, operating rhythms, governance mechanisms, delivery metrics, resource planning processes, and continuous improvement initiatives that improve predictability, quality, and execution efficiency.

The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership, program management expertise, analytics-driven decision making, and stakeholder management skills. Success in this role will be measured through improved delivery predictability, adherence to operational standards, partner performance, portfolio transparency, capacity utilization, and quality outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly, annual, and strategic portfolio planning across multiple product teams.
  • Define and institutionalize portfolio-wide standard work, governance processes, and operating rhythms.
  • Drive delivery predictability, execution excellence, and on-time customer commitment fulfillment.
  • Establish and track portfolio KPIs covering delivery, quality, productivity, and operational health.
  • Own capacity planning, resource forecasting, and workforce demand management.
  • Govern partner and vendor performance through SLAs, scorecards, and operational reviews.
  • Lead portfolio-level risk, dependency, and escalation management.
  • Develop executive dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide portfolio transparency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, scalability, and operational maturity.
  • Facilitate leadership reviews, business reviews, and cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, and partner organizations.

  • Continuous Improvement, Lean Thinking, and Process Optimization.
  • Six Sigma, Lean Process improvement methodologies (Kaizen, PSR)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in software delivery, engineering operations, PMO, or portfolio management.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience driving portfolio operations, delivery excellence, or business operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, multi-product portfolios with distributed teams.
  • Proven success establishing governance frameworks and operating models at scale.
  • Experience driving quarterly planning, annual operating plans, and capacity forecasting.
  • Strong track record of improving delivery predictability, productivity, and quality outcomes.
  • Experience managing strategic vendors, outsourcing partners, and SLA-based engagements.
