Senior Manager, Launch Technology & Data Implementation
Specialty Pharmacy and Patient Services
Travel: Up to 50%
Position Type: Full-time, individual contributor
About the Opportunity
This highly visible, client-facing position sits at the intersection of specialty pharmacy operations, healthcare technology, data integration, reporting, and launch strategy. You will work directly with biopharma manufacturers and internal teams to ensure every new program has the systems, connectivity, data flows, and reporting infrastructure needed for a successful launch.
This is an ideal opportunity for a pharmacist with expert-level CareTend knowledge who understands how patient journeys translate into practical technology and data requirements.
Why This Role Matters
Launching a new specialty therapy requires far more than configuring a system. Patient enrollment, reimbursement support, pharmacy fulfillment, clinical services, manufacturer reporting, and external integrations must work together from day one.
In this role, you will help transform complex program requirements into scalable technical solutions. Your work will support smoother launches, more reliable data, stronger manufacturer partnerships, and better experiences for patients navigating complex therapies.
You will also help incorporate AI and automation into new programs from the beginning, creating more efficient and sustainable workflows without relying on later retrofitting.
What You’ll Do
Lead the technology, data, connectivity, and reporting workstream for new specialty pharmacy product launches
Serve as the primary technical and data subject matter expert throughout launch planning and implementation
Partner directly with biopharma manufacturers to evaluate program designs, requirements, risks, dependencies, and technical feasibility
Translate manufacturer expectations and patient-service workflows into clear system, integration, data, and reporting requirements
Assess launch designs for scalability, data-capture needs, reporting impact, implementation risk, and vendor dependencies
Coordinate with technology, pharmacy operations, analytics, compliance, account management, CareTend, WellSky, and external integration partners
Oversee readiness for file-based data exchanges, SFTP connections, APIs, system integrations, data validation, reconciliation, and launch testing
Develop and maintain data requirements, file specifications, connectivity maps, testing plans, and implementation documentation
Ensure technical requirements align with program contracts and manufacturer expectations
Prepare presentations and materials that educate stakeholders, clarify decisions, and build alignment
Participate in client meetings, implementation discussions, vendor sessions, and virtual or in-person launch summits
Help standardize launch templates, documentation, and processes to support a scalable launch-excellence model
Partner with leadership and operational teams to incorporate AI and automation into new programs from day one
What Makes You Successful
You understand specialty pharmacy from both a clinical and technical perspective. You can anticipate how a proposed patient-services program will function once it is configured in CareTend—and identify gaps before they affect launch timelines or patient care.
You are comfortable advising biopharma clients, guiding cross-functional discussions, and translating complex technical concepts into clear recommendations. You bring strong attention to detail while maintaining sight of the broader patient journey and business goals.
This role requires someone who can work independently, manage several launches simultaneously, and confidently influence decisions without direct authority.
Your Background
Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
Active pharmacist license or eligibility for pharmacy licensure
At least two years of experience as a practicing licensed pharmacist
Expert-level CareTend knowledge required
Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy operations and patient journeys, including intake, enrollment, reimbursement support, dispensing, fulfillment, and ongoing patient services
Experience with healthcare technology, data management, or specialty pharmacy data operations
Experience supporting data feeds, SFTP connectivity, APIs, system integrations, and reporting infrastructure
Ability to translate pharmacy workflows into technical, data, and reporting requirements
Demonstrated experience providing consultative, client-facing guidance to biopharma or manufacturer partners
Strong project-management, presentation, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet launch deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred Experience
Experience with AI or automation tools in healthcare or pharmacy operations
