Job Description

About Syngenta

At Syngenta Group, we're a global community of 56,000 innovators across 90 countries, united by a 250-year legacy of agricultural excellence. As the world's most local agricultural technology partner, we create tailor-made solutions that transform farming while protecting our planet, driven by our commitment to innovation, ethics, and integrity. Through our inclusive environment and diverse perspectives, we pioneer breakthrough solutions for farmers, society, and future generations. Join our worldwide teams of agricultural pioneers in creating a more resilient and equitable food system for all.

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, we're looking for a Senior Manager to lead multiple I2P functional teams from our Pune Centre - someone who thrives at the intersection of operational excellence and strategic transformation. You'll own end-to-end delivery across Invoice Processing, Payments, AP Helpdesk, Vendor Master Data, and Travel & Expense, while coaching people leaders and driving measurable process improvements. Reporting to the I2P Global Operations Lead, this role carries high visibility and a clear development pathway into global leadership.

This is a player-coach position with direct ownership of multiple process streams, active involvement in digital transformation projects, and real influence on how scalable I2P delivery is built. You'll work closely with the I2P Global Operations Lead and Leadership Team, shaping team culture and operating models - with a clear path to grow into global operations leadership. If you bring deep I2P expertise, a passion for developing leaders, and the drive to transform finance operations at scale, we want to hear from you.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and coordinate I2P operations across multiple functional teams or a regional portfolio, ensuring SLAs, quality standards, and compliance are consistently met
  • Manage and develop people leaders (Managers), building bench strength, succession pipelines, and a high-performance culture across a large team
  • Drive end-to-end performance monitoring - from invoice receipt through payment execution - using data, KPI dashboards, and structured reporting to inform leadership decisions
  • Own process improvement initiatives using Lean/OpEx methodology, delivering measurable impact on efficiency, cost, and service quality
  • Partner with regional finance leads, internal controls, and technology teams to support audits, digital tool implementations (SAP, Ariba, Concur, VIM), and transition/transformation projects

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • 12–15 years of experience in Finance Operations, Shared Services, or a Global Capability Centre (GCC)
  • Minimum 4–5 years in a managerial role with demonstrated experience managing other Managers (second-line leadership)
  • Strong end-to-end knowledge of I2P processes: Invoice Processing, Exception Handling, Payments, AP Helpdesk, Vendor Master Data, and T&E
  • Solid understanding of AP financial controls, GST, WHT, and tax compliance in a multi-country context
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (VIM), Ariba, Concur, and ServiceNow
  • Proven track record delivering process improvement programs using Lean / OpEx / Six Sigma methodology

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting or leading transitions/migrations of I2P activities within a GCC or SSC environment
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Celonis or Qlik
  • Experience with change management during digital tool rollouts and process transitions
  • Strong cross-regional stakeholder engagement at senior finance or business partner level
