Position Title:

Sr Manager Global EHS

Location:

Remote within Midwest US or Southeast US

This position is responsible for leading and executing the EH&S strategy and compliance across global locations of responsibility. Reporting to the global EHSS Director, the Global Sr EHS Manager will lead and supervise a team of direct and indirect EHS professionals. This role is a remote position with variable travel up to 50% with some international travel expected. As a critical part of this role, the Sr. Manager will advance Fatal and serious injury prevention strategies across the business. This role will also lead, develop, and implement global processes, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct oversight of multi-site locations globally
  • Influences plant and business leadership to drive KMT’s EHS culture by ensuring roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of the business and location leaders align with company core values.
  • Develop, lead, and drive corporate Environmental Health and Safety strategies, standards, and objectives across the business.
  • Lead and supervise a diverse, global team of EHS professionals towards the execution of Kennametal’s corporate EHS and business strategies.
  • Develops and sustains EHS management systems to drive compliance, fatality prevention, injury reduction, and environmental performance.
  • Lead and support EHS capital improvement projects.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor location EHS professionals.
  • Lead and support locations with the implementation of EHS standards to ensure compliance with all applicable global, local, state, and federal regulations in the regions in which we operate.
  • Support locations with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action plan development.
  • Develop and lead cross functional teams which implement sustainable processes, standards and tools that support Kennametal’s Fatality and Serious Injury prevention program and overall EHS objectives.

Minimum Business Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety, engineering or other closely related degree
  • CSP, CIH or Masters degree high preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive EH&S experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Expert knowledge of US EHS related regulatory requirements
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
