Job Description

Sr. Manager / Director - Corporate Development

Department: Corporate Development

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: 1668 S. Garfield Ave. 2nd Floor, Alhambra, CA 91801

Reporting To: Daniel Rothman

Compensation: $130,000 - $200,000 base salary

Description

Astrana is scaling nationally through acquisitions, provider group partnerships, and new market entry. The Corporate Development team sits at the center of that growth: sourcing and evaluating targets, building the valuation and deal models that drive investment decisions, and carrying transactions through diligence, close, and integration.

We are hiring a Senior Manager or Director of Corporate Development (title commensurate with experience) to own deal analytics end to end — from first-pass screening through board-ready valuation work — and to serve as the organizational backbone for post-close integration. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership and the transactions that define Astrana's national footprint.

What You'll Do

  • Build and own valuation analyses for acquisition and partnership targets, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company, precedent transaction, and accretion/dilution analyses
  • Construct and maintain detailed operating and deal models in Excel, including membership, PMPM revenue, medical cost, and synergy assumptions specific to value-based care economics
  • Lead financial and operational due diligence workstreams: manage data rooms, coordinate diligence request lists across finance, legal, clinical, and IT functions, and synthesize findings into clear go/no-go recommendations
  • Prepare investment committee memos, board materials, and executive presentations that translate analysis into decisions
  • Support deal execution: LOI and term sheet analytics, purchase price mechanics, working capital and earnout structuring support alongside legal and finance
  • Drive post-close integration planning and execution: build integration workplans, track milestones and synergy capture, run cross-functional integration meetings, and escalate risks early
  • Maintain the corporate development pipeline: track targets, manage CRM hygiene, and produce recurring pipeline reporting for leadership
  • Conduct market landscaping and competitive analysis for new geographies and adjacencies

Qualifications

  • At least years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or corporate development (Senior Manager: 3–4 years; Director: 5+ years with demonstrated deal leadership)
  • Demonstrated fluency in valuation methodologies: you can build a DCF from a blank workbook and defend every assumption in it
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills: three-statement models, scenario/sensitivity toggles, clean auditable structure
  • Healthcare experience or a demonstrated, specific interest in healthcare, ideally provider services, value-based care, managed care, or healthcare services M&A
  • Exceptional organizational skills: you can run multiple diligence and integration workstreams simultaneously without dropping threads
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to distill complex analysis for executive and board audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field

You're Great for This Role If

  • You have worked on healthcare services transactions: independent practices, physician groups, IPAs, MSOs, risk-bearing organizations, or adjacent provider services
  • You understand value-based care economics: capitation, risk adjustment, shared savings, and medical loss dynamics
  • You have supported or led post-merger integration and know what a good integration workplan looks like
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can build the first version of an analysis without a template
  • You are proficient in PowerPoint and can produce board-quality materials quickly
  • You have experience with data room platforms and pipeline/CRM tools

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Remote, US based position - with strong preference for candidates based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York
  • Periodic travel required for target site visits, diligence sessions, and integration support (estimated 25%)
  • The base salary compensation target pay range for this role is: $130,000 – $160,000 (Senior Manager) / $160,000 – $200,000 (Director), plus annual bonus eligibility. The salary range represents our national target range for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on level, geographic location (current or future), experience, and other job-related factors.
