About This Role
The Sr Manager, Country & Site Operations (CSO) Business and Process Lead drives the business processes, governance, and operational improvements that enable CSO to deliver on its strategic priorities. This role partners closely with CSO leadership and key stakeholders to translate strategy into execution through resource planning, performance tracking, and cross-functional initiative leadership. You will play a critical role in strengthening country delivery performance, site engagement, monitoring oversight, and continuous improvement across the function. Operating in a highly matrixed environment, you will represent and support CSO in key initiatives and forums while delivering insights and recommendations that shape decision-making and enhance the CSO operating model. This role reports into CSO leadership and is central to advancing operational excellence across global clinical programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead development and continuous improvement of CSO business processes, governance, and operational infrastructure

  • Translate priorities into execution plans and track outcomes, risks, and delivery

  • Drive initiatives across country delivery, site engagement, monitoring oversight, and continuous improvement

  • Synthesize insights and data into actionable recommendations to improve decision-making and performance

  • Lead resource planning, forecasting, and tracking across CSO sub-functions

  • Develop dashboards and executive-ready reports on performance, capacity, and priorities

  • Serve as Sub-Process Owner for key CSO processes, ensuring governance and compliance

  • Support process and system enhancements to improve execution and scalability

  • Strengthen onboarding, knowledge sharing, and ways of working across CSO

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline​

  • 5+ years of experience in clinical, country/site, or business operations within a drug development environment.

  • Proven ability to lead complex business processes and cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.

  • Strong project and change management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results independently.

  • Demonstrated experience in business process improvement and operational delivery.

  • Solid business and financial acumen, including resource planning, budgeting, business cases, and trade-off evaluation.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills, with ability to influence at senior levels.

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience collecting, synthesizing, and interpreting data to drive decision-making.

  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and translate strategy into practical, scalable solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and planning/reporting tools (e.g., Planisware, Clarity, Veeva, RBQM, Smartsheetor similar systems).

  • Passion for clinical development, site-centric execution, and continuous improvement.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $134,000.00-$179,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
