Position Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Creative is a visionary and results-driven leader responsible for overseeing a team of Managers, Creative to deliver innovative, insight-led work that drives measurable business impact. This role ensures The Home Depot’s creative outputs are elevated, cohesive, and performance-driven across every channel and customer touchpoint—shaping campaign strategies, guiding work from concept through production, and ensuring alignment to brand standards and business objectives.

In addition to setting the creative vision, this leader partners closely with senior stakeholders to integrate data, insights, and test-and-learn approaches into the creative process. They manage budgets, schedules, and resources to deliver campaigns on time and on budget, foster a collaborative and engaging team culture, and develop the next generation of creative leaders while continuously improving processes as the team scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 25% - Campaign Strategy & Stakeholder Collaboration - Serve as the senior creative point of contact for senior stakeholders, translating business objectives into actionable creative frameworks. Collaborate across marketing, merchandising, UX, media, and operations to ensure cohesive, cross-channel execution.
  • 25% - Creative Brief & Content Matrix Development - Approve and guide creative briefs and content matrices, ensuring they integrate prior performance learnings, media strategy, audience insights, and test variables. Partner with measurement and analytics teams to ensure creative is optimized for performance and can be iterated based on results. Leverage relationships with external creative partners and platform experts to infuse briefs with new opportunities and best practices.
  • 10% - Creative Budget Stewardship - Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling for all creative execution. Approve creative asset plans and adjust as needed to meet shifting priorities while maintaining budget discipline. Manage external agency and vendor budgets to ensure cost efficiency without sacrificing quality.
  • 30% - Creative Excellence & Art Direction - Oversee creative vision and execution across multiple portfolios, ensuring work is strategically grounded, visually elevated, and customer-centered. Guide concept development, visual storytelling, and campaign execution across traditional, digital, and emerging platforms. Provide oversight during all production phases, including pre-production deliverables, on-set direction, and post-production review. Champion innovative formats, DCO applications, and performance-informed creative approaches. Partner with internal creative teams, external agencies, vendors, and platform partners to ensure creative solutions are scalable, innovative, and on-brand.
  • 10% - Creative Process & Continuous Improvement - Lead process optimization initiatives to reduce friction, improve speed-to-market, and enhance creative quality. Establish and evolve creative development standards, ensuring documentation and adoption across teams and external partners.

  • This Position typically reports to the Director, Creative
  • This Position may have 3+ direct reports

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 8–10+ years in creative leadership roles, including managing other creative leaders.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact, multichannel campaigns from strategy through execution.
  • Strong background in art direction, content strategy, and performance-driven creative.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and resource allocation in a complex organization.
  • Familiarity with campaign activation, measurement, reporting, and DCO strategies/platforms.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including agency and vendor relationship management.

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
