We are looking for a Senior Manager, Card Networks to lead all aspects of the business relationship with our payment network collaborators. These collaborators include Mastercard, Visa, domestic card networks, and others. You’ll be responsible for network strategy, business development, relationship management, SLA and incident tracking, network compliance, and other activities that may come up!

The ideal candidate combines deep payments industry knowledge with strong negotiation, analytical, relationship management, and cross-functional leadership skills. This individual serves as a key liaison between external collaborators and internal team members across Product, Finance, Legal, Risk, Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with all of eBay’s card network partners globally

  • Lead commercial negotiations which may cover network pricing, incentives, rebates, business terms, SLAs, and/or contract language

  • Run term sheet and contract lifecycle activities including redlines, executive alignment, critical issue management, and any KYC/onboarding activities

  • Identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities, network capabilities, and strategic growth initiatives

  • Drive network optimization initiatives focused on authorization performance, cost efficiency, customer experience, fraud mitigation, and operational scalability

  • Monitor industry trends, network rule changes, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape across payments

  • Develop executive-ready business cases, reporting, presentations, and strategic recommendations

  • Collaborate with Finance on deal, cost of payment, and/or revenue forecasting

  • Lead recurring business reviews and strategic discussions with network partners and internal teams

  • Drive issue resolution across operational, financial, and strategic partnership matters

  • Support company initiatives tied to payment acceptance, cost optimization, and network performance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in the payments industry with a specific focus on account management, business development, and/or partnerships

  • Proven experience negotiating complex deals with favorable terms

  • Strong understanding of card network ecosystem, payment processing and ecommerce payments

  • Ability to influence across the payments value chain (issuers, acquirers, networks), across teams (product, engineering, risk, legal, etc.) and across various levels of an organization including C-level

  • Diligent with great organizational skills - wearing a project/program manager hat for ongoing initiatives comes naturally to you

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly analytical, and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance and supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with card network economics and incentives

  • Comfortable working in a matrixed environment with many cross-functional partners who participate in decision-making

  • Knowledgeable about Cobrand programs

  • Ecommerce or marketplace payments

  • Contract negotiation and vendor management

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$135,200 - $219,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
