As a Sr. Manager, Business Unit Risk, you will play a critical role in strengthening the Bank's First Line of Defense risk and compliance framework by leading compliance testing, monitoring, and regulatory oversight activities across lending and banking products.

This role is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying potential regulatory risks, and partnering with business leaders to implement sustainable solutions that align with applicable banking regulations and Schwab policies. You will collaborate across business, risk, compliance, audit, and third-party vendor teams to support a strong culture of risk management, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance
Interprets and applies federal and state banking regulations to lending, deposit, testing, and monitoring activities.
Risk Management
Identifies risk themes, control gaps, and remediation needs across First Line processes.
Compliance Testing & Monitoring
Develops and executes testing plans aligned to compliance standards, procedures, and regulatory expectations.
Lending Compliance
Supports oversight of business purpose lending origination, servicing, and related regulatory obligations.
Internal Controls Assessment
Evaluates control design and effectiveness; documents results with accuracy and clear support.
Analytical Thinking
Uses logical analysis to evaluate data, findings, root causes, and recommendations.
Data Analysis
Prepares and analyzes lending data, including readiness for Dodd-Frank Section 1071 requirements.
Stakeholder Management
Partners with business leaders, risk teams, compliance, audit, and third-party vendors.
Problem Solving
Develops practical recommendations and supports sustainable corrective actions.
Regulatory Reporting
Prepares management reporting, issue summaries, and exam/audit response materials.
