We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across Thermo Fisher Scientific’s portfolio in Indonesia. This is a cross-divisional, opportunity-driven role responsible for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities across Analytical / Laboratory Instruments, Specialty Diagnostics, Life Sciences Solutions, and Biopharma. The role will focus on expanding the opportunity funnel, driving demand generation, coordinating effectively across divisions, and ensuring timely conversion of opportunities into purchase orders. In addition, this role will play a key part in engaging government stakeholders and shaping national-level initiatives and projects, positioning Thermo Fisher as a strategic partner in Indonesia’s healthcare and scientific ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Opportunity Creation
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across all divisions, with a strong focus on new accounts, untapped segments, and strategic growth areas
    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned with growth priorities
    • Develop strategic account penetration plans for government, healthcare, academic, and industrial sectors
  • Government Relations & National Projects
    • Develop and manage relationships with key government stakeholders, including ministries, regulatory bodies, and public healthcare institutions
    • Identify, shape, and drive national-level programs, tenders, and strategic initiatives aligned with Indonesia’s healthcare and scientific priorities
    • Position Thermo Fisher as a trusted partner in public sector transformation, including laboratory modernization and capacity building
  • Cross-Divisional Coordination
    • Act as a central point to connect multiple business units, ensuring a unified Thermo Fisher approach to customers
    • Collaborate with commercial, application, and marketing teams to develop integrated solutions for complex, multi-division opportunities
    • Break silos and drive bundled or comprehensive offerings where relevant
  • Demand Generation & Market Expansion
    • Drive proactive demand generation initiatives (events, campaigns, partnerships) to expand awareness and lead flow
    • Leverage key wins (e.g., government contracts) to open new doors and scale opportunities
    • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to shape strategy
  • Opportunity Management & Closure
    • Track and manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, ensuring momentum and timely closure
    • Work closely with sales teams and distributors to accelerate quotation, tender, and PO processes
    • Identify and remove bottlenecks to ensure on-time deal conversion

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related scientific field
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in the life sciences, analytical instruments, or related industry
    • Proven track record in business development, government engagement, and pipeline generation
    • Experience in managing or supporting public sector tenders or national-level projects is highly preferred
    • Experience working across multiple product lines or business units is an advantage
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert growth opportunities
    • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence government and senior institutional stakeholders
    • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to navigate complex sales cycles, including government procurement processes
    • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution
    • Strong communication and influencing skills

  • Growth in qualified pipeline and funnel expansion
