Job Title:

Sr. Manager, AccountingThe Sr. Manager, Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, overseeing statutory audits, managing tax compliance, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience dealing with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

Senior Accounting Manager

Location: Egypt

Reports To:AssociateDirector- Accounting

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, overseeing statutory audits, managing tax compliance, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience dealing with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local accounting regulations.

  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.

  • Monitor accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, and PayrollAccounting.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Audit Management:

  • Lead the annual statutory audit process and coordinate with external auditors.

  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and management responses.

  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of recommendations.

  • Coordinate internal audit activities and monitor remediation plans.

  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements.

Taxation:

  • Oversee all tax-related matters includingCorporate Income Tax,Value Added Tax (VAT),Withholding Tax,Payroll Tax,Stamp Duty and other applicable taxes

  • Ensure timely filing and payment of all tax obligations.

  • Coordinate tax audits and inspections with the Egyptian Tax Authority.

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impact.

  • Work closely with tax advisors to optimize tax compliance and risk management.

Compliance & Regulatory Affairs

  • Ensure compliance with Egyptian laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.

  • Manage relationships with regulatory authorities and governmental agencies.

  • Oversee preparation and submission of statutory filings.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, delegated authority matrices, and financial controls.

  • Support implementation of corporate governance initiatives.

  • Review and enhance accounting policies and procedures.

  • Ensure effective segregation of duties and internal control environment.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk.

  • Support ERP, upgrades, and system enhancements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor'sDegree inAccounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional certification preferredCPA,ACCA, orESAA

Master's degree is an advantage.

Experience

10years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

Strong experience managing external audits and tax audits.

Experience with multinational companies is preferred.

Experience working with ERP systems (Workday,SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of USGAAP and Egyptian accounting standards.

Extensive knowledge of Egyptian tax laws and regulations.

Expertise in financial reporting, audit management, and internal controls.

Advanced Excel and financial systems skills.

Experience with ERP and reporting tools.
