A Sr. Management Analyst job is available with the City of Fort Worth Environmental Services Department’s Solid Waste Division. The position manages, coordinates, and supervises various solid waste contracts, including, but not limited to, the City’s residential collection contract; recycling processing contract; landfill contract; and cart management contract. This position also collaborates closely with various internal City divisions and departments, including but not limited to legal, purchasing, finance, planning, and Code Compliance; provides professional-level administrative assistance in support of various solid waste projects. Essential duties of the role shall also include the requirements to track and analyze expenditures related to contract programs, budget development in selected areas, and provide ad-hoc reports and other documentation related to project activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, accounting, or a related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in the analysis of processes, procedures, operations, systems, or methods, including experience in the functional area of assignment, such as budget/financial management, research analysis, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in environmental programs and or Solid Waste management
  • One (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of concepts related to budget management, business planning, policy development, and strategic planning
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, Smartsheet, and PeopleSoft

The Sr. Management Analyst job responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional-level administrative assistance and interpretation in support of assigned contractual programs; tracks and analyzes expenditures related to contract programs; and provides reports and other documentation related to project activities and works with legal to clarify contractual issues when necessary and documents potential improvements, changes, and modifications
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual budget development process; monitors and approves expenditure; ensures adherence to division budget; and recommends budget adjustments and modifications as appropriate and necessary
  • Develop working relationships with outside organizations, contractors, consultants, and vendors
  • May manage, coordinate, and supervise assigned staff. Administers assigned programs; provides guidance in work assignments; allocates resources; and develops goals
  • Directs data analysis, reporting, KPIs, and benchmarking efforts using enterprise systems such as ESRI, ISM, and Crystal Reports; manages development, implementation, and maintenance of departmental performance dashboards
  • Manages and supports the development and implementation of departmental and citywide strategic plans
