Aerospace Business Unit
Rexnord Aerospace supplies high performance spherical and cylindrical bearings, mechanical seals,gearsand electrical components to commercial air transport markets. Our products are engineered to meet stringent requirements and are specified in engine systems, flight control systems, landing gearsystemsand airframe structures. Our global customer base includes major engine and airframe OEMs, tiersuppliersandaircraftoperators.
Brief Description
Perform duties toset upandoperatea number ofdifferent computerized numerical controlled machine tools to perform a wide range of turning, drilling, milling,tappingoperations onprecision machined componentsina work-cell environmentFollow quality and safety rules and keepworkarea in a clean and orderly condition.
Key Accountabilities
Work fromprocess sheets, blueprints,setupsheets,setupcards, machine status boards, and verbal as well as written instructions.
Machine and installor re-cutchuck jaws asrequired
Experience in running and setting up turning machines with live tooling and y-axis.
Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets.
Use hand toolsand manual machinesasneeded.
Modify existingCNC programs for machinesas needed
Downloadand uploadprogramsintomachineand make programming adjustments as needed.
Operatedifferent typesof computerized numerical controls to manufacture a finished machined product by performing a wide range of machining operationswithintight tolerances.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and makeappropriate adjustments
Make adjustments to offset coordinates to compensate for materials, tooling or machine center conditions.
Will berequiredto train less experienced machinists.
Set upand verify preset gauges for proper calibration asrequired
Work with supervisor,programmer& supportteams to resolve problem situations as required.
Inspectownwork for correct dimensions and ensure that company quality and quantity standards aremaintainedand complete required documentation Will berequiredto inspect the work ofothermachinists
May berequiredtooperatemultiple machinesconcurrently
Rotate between various department work centers asrequiredandperform other related duties as assigned
Entersdata intoERPsystem.
Supports RBS activities.

Capabilities and Success Factors
This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder.
Previousexperience anddemonstratedproficiencyinoperatingCNClathe,CNCmill machineswithadvancedknowledge and experiencewithsettingupmachines
Requires a high school education or equivalentexperience.
Minimum of5 yearsofrelated experience,andknowledge of machining principles and methods for computer numerical controlled machine toolsrequired
Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Advanced skillin reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions in Englishrequired
External candidates willbe requiredto pass a Machinist test which measures mechanical aptitude
Moderate physical demandrequiredto insert tooling,set upworkcenters, inspectworkpiecesand make machine adjustments, which is equivalent to continuously lifting or moving light weight material.Must be able to lift up to 50lbsand stand foran entire shift
