Introduction
The GlobalFoundries Tax Operations team is expanding and seeking an experienced Tax Operations Manager – Transfer Pricing to lead and manage a centralized Tax Operations Center of Excellence (COE). This role is critical in driving the standardization, scalability, and execution of transfer pricing operations globally. The successful candidate will partner closely with leadership, tax, finance, and legal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment of transfer pricing strategies with business objectives, while leveraging advanced tax technology and automation capabilities.
Your Job
- Implement and manage monthly and quarterly transfer pricing calculations across intercompany arrangements, including cost plus, resale, profit split, and cost sharing models.
- Prepare and oversee related journal entries and intercompany invoicing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Design, build, and maintain transfer pricing models and tools to support efficient and scalable execution aligned with company policies and financial results.
- Leverage and enhance tax technology tools such as Alteryx, Power BI/Tableau, Power Automate, SharePoint, Oracle, SAP, OneStream, and AI-driven solutions to improve automation, reporting, and data quality.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls related to transfer pricing processes and prepare audit-ready workpapers and documentation.
- Manage transfer pricing documentation (local files, master file, and Country-by-Country Reporting) in line with OECD and local regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Legal teams to draft, review, and update intercompany agreements ensuring alignment with transfer pricing policies.
- Support transfer pricing audits, controversy matters, and regulatory inquiries by preparing analysis and coordinating with external advisors.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments (including OECD guidelines and Pillar Two) and assess operational impacts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including tax, finance, accounting, and business units to operationalize transfer pricing policies and ensure accurate financial outcomes.
- Provide technical support for uncertain tax position (UTP) analysis under ASC 740-10.
- Manage multiple priorities, communicate outcomes to leadership, and mentor junior tax professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of transfer pricing experience in public accounting, consulting, or a multinational organization.
- Strong hands-on experience managing intercompany calculations, journal entries, and invoicing processes across multiple transfer pricing arrangements.
- Solid knowledge of US, OECD, and local transfer pricing regulations, including documentation requirements (local files, master files, CbCR).
- Experience supporting audits, controversy matters, or similar regulatory engagements.
- Experience collaborating with Legal teams to develop and maintain intercompany agreements.
- Proven expertise in tax technology tools (Alteryx, Power BI/Tableau, Power Automate, SharePoint, Oracle, SAP, OneStream, and AI capabilities).
- Strong understanding of SOX compliance and experience preparing audit-ready documentation.
- Strong accounting and financial acumen, including understanding of financial statement impacts of transfer pricing.
- Proven project management, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work in U.S. time zone support hours (approximately 3:00 PM – midnight IST).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree such as MBA, JD, LL.M. (Tax), or Ph.D.
- Professional certification such as CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA), or Enrolled Agent (EA).
- Big Four or leading consulting firm experience.
- Demonstrated success in driving automation, process improvement, and data analytics initiatives in tax or finance environments.
- Experience with advanced pricing agreements (APA) or competent authority proceedings.
- Strong interest in innovation, digital transformation, and AI adoption in tax operations.
