As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platform, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with 3+ yrs of proven track record of technical leadership
• Expert-level proficiency in Java full-stack development, including RESTful API design and implementation Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA
• Strong front-end development skills in React and Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices, Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence)

• Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices, microservices architecture and distributed systems

• Proficiency in AI-assisted coding using tools such as GitHub Copilot, or similar AI pair-programming assistants and Ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated code for quality, security, and performance

• Strong prompt engineering skills with the ability to craft effective prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate accurate, efficient, and secure code

• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance team productivity

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
