Job Description

Job Title: Senior Solution Architect I-SAP Integration

Department: SAP Development & Integration, SAP & Ecosystems, Enterprise IT & Quality

Location: Global Business Solutions, Bangalore

Your impact begins here

As Senior Solution Architect I-SAP Integration, you will shape how SAP connects with the rest of Novo’s global landscape. You will own the SAP-centric integration architecture and roadmap and set the API-led and event-driven patterns teams build on. Your decisions will make integrations secure, reusable and compliant, so the processes behind our global operations run reliably today and scale for tomorrow.

What you’ll bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Typically 10+ years in enterprise integration, including substantial experience as an integration or solution architect in complex global landscapes.
  • Deep architecture and hands-on knowledge of SAP Integration Suite, especially Cloud Integration (CPI): iFlows, adapters, mappings, Groovy scripting, exception handling and monitoring.
  • Strong experience with SAP BTP subaccounts, entitlements, destinations and connectivity, and proven SAP Cloud Connector expertise, including whitelisting, certificates, principal propagation and high availability.
  • Experience with SAP API Management and API lifecycle governance, plus practical event-driven experience with SAP Advanced Event Mesh or a comparable event broker.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Advanced Event Mesh administration and governance, including broker landscape and service lifecycle management, capacity planning, dynamic message routing, event modelling, access management, event discovery and publishing, monitoring, tracing and operational insights.
  • Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA/ECC and SAP cloud applications with non-SAP systems using IDoc, RFC, SOAP, REST, OData, SFTP, AS2, XML, JSON and XSLT.
  • Solid integration security knowledge, including mutual TLS, OAuth 2.0, SAML, secrets management and data protection.
  • Proven technical leadership, architecture governance and mentoring across distributed internal and partner teams, and the ability to build support without relying on formal authority.

Useful, but not essential:

  • Experience leading SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite migration (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of SAP Integration Solution Advisory Methodology, Clean Core guidance, Business Accelerator Hub, Integration Advisor, Trading Partner Management, Edge Integration Cell or Cloud ALM.
  • Regulated-industry experience, including GxP validation, audit evidence and data integrity.
  • A master’s degree or SAP Integration Suite/BTP, TOGAF, cloud or security certification. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.

What you’ll do

As design authority for significant SAP integrations, you will make independent architecture decisions within enterprise standards and follow them through from early advisory to go-live and adoption. You will:

  • Own and evolve the SAP-centric integration target state and roadmap in line with enterprise strategy and SAP Clean Core principles.
  • Lead architecture for SAP-to-SAP, SAP-to-non-SAP, cloud and hybrid scenarios, defining reusable API, messaging, B2B and event-driven patterns that replace isolated point-to-point connections.
  • Architect secure hybrid connectivity and event-driven designs with SAP Cloud Connector and SAP Advanced Event Mesh, building in security, resilience, observability and GxP compliance from the start.
  • Define and govern the SAP Advanced Event Mesh landscape, including broker provisioning principles, service sizing and capacity planning, dynamic message-routing patterns, user and group access models, and lifecycle standards.
  • Own the architectural approach for event modelling, event discovery and publishing, monitoring, tracing and operational insights, working with platform and operations teams to ensure that event-driven solutions are secure, observable, scalable and ready to run.
  • Make sure every solution is ready to run, with monitoring, runbooks, clear ownership and incident-response readiness.
  • Mentor architects and engineers, build reference implementations and evaluate new SAP BTP capabilities against clear business value.

Who you’ll work with

You will join SAP Development & Integration, part of SAP & Ecosystems in Enterprise IT. The team designs, builds and operates enterprise-scale SAP development and integration – from ABAP to SAP BTP Integration Suite, APIs and Event Mesh – connecting business processes, applications and data across a global landscape.

Your closest partners include Enterprise Architecture, Design Authority and the Integration Architecture committee, SAP platform and BTP teams, Product Owners, and IT Security, Quality, Validation and Compliance. You will also work with network, infrastructure and operations teams, and externally with SAP, implementation partners and B2B partners. Representing SAP Integration Architecture in global forums, you will help teams across regions align on one clear integration direction.

What you can expect here

You will be trusted to own architecture decisions and influence platform roadmaps, technology investments and supplier designs. Without direct people management, your influence comes from expertise, clarity and the quality of your recommendations.

You will keep pace with SAP BTP and integration evolution and turn what you learn into standards others use. You will be part of a culture that values honest feedback, constructive challenge and quality, where standards are calibrated to the situation and patient safety is never compromised.
