ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear is powered by technology that connects four global brands, a worldwide supply chain, and 500+ retail stores. Our Columbia Digital Technology (CDT) organization is expanding its Global Capability Center (GCC) in India to help drive our next phase of cloud transformation.

We are seeking a Senior Compute and Storage Infrastructure Engineer (P3) with strong on-prem expertise and a focus on virtualized environments, Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems, storage, global files sharing and replication/resilience. In this role, you will help keep our Global On-Prem environment reliable, secure, and well-governed; partnering with and supporting other engineers through operational execution, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Because this role partners with global teams across North America, Europe, and Asia, excellent English communication (spoken and written) and experience working with international, distributed teams are essential.

You will:

  • Conduct audits, assessments, and develop technical documentation
  • Support global teams by assisting with operational escalations and improvements
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑regional partners to execute shared technical roadmaps
  • Partner with Finance, Platform, and Engineering teams to support FinOps practices, including cost visibility, usage optimization, and spend governance
  • Participate in on call rotations that follow the sun model with your engineering peers around the globe

YOU ARE

  • A strong Infrastructure engineer passionate about secure, scalable, and innovative hybrid solutions
  • A collaborator who enjoys working with global teammates across cultures and time zones
  • A clear and confident communicator—in both spoken and written English—able to work with technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Someone who values documentation, standards, and process-driven engineering
  • Familiar with IT Service Management (ITSM / ITIL), operations maturity, and enabling service teams
  • A proactive, self-directed engineer who thrives in a dynamic, global environment
  • An analytical thinker who emphasizes structure, quality, and repeatability

YOU HAVE

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on infrastructure engineering and operations with a global environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related STEM field—or equivalent experience
  • Significant hands-on experience with a combination of the following: VMware, Windows Server OS, RedHat Linux, Commvault, Dell, Pure, Qumulo technologies
  • Experience working with global or distributed teams (GCC/multinational experience is a plus)
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence
  • Strong automation bias
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions and automation tools such as Ansible and PowerShell
  • Experience breaking work down for complex efforts a plus
  • Experience with ITSM/ITIL; exposure to Jira Service Manager is a plus
  • General knowledge of Azure a plus
