LS&Co. is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and continuous optimization of large‑scale distribution and logistics operations. This role blends industrial engineering fundamentals, advanced automation, and data‑driven decision‑making to deliver measurable cost, service, and productivity improvements in a fast‑moving omnichannel supply‑chain environment.
The ideal candidate is a systems thinker and change agent—comfortable operating at the intersection of physical operations, digital platforms, and cross‑functional leadership. You will influence strategy, translate data into action, and help shape our next generation of intelligent supply chain operations.
Position Goals:
Deliver sustainable operational savings year-over-year, through engineered standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and technology‑enabled optimization.
Improve throughput, labor productivity, service levels, and process efficiency across multiple sites.
Enable data‑driven operations by modernizing KPIs, analytics, and decision frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational & Process Engineering:
Lead end‑to‑end process design and optimization across receiving, storage, picking, packing, sortation, inventory control, waving, and shipping operations.
Apply advanced industrial engineering and Lean methodologies (e.g., method analysis, work measurement, ergonomics, 5S, Kanban, poka‑yoke) to improve performance at scale.
Conduct time studies and capacity modeling to support business cases for new initiatives and capital investments.
Support and lead operational excellence events.
Automation, Layout & Systems Design:
Design and evolve facility layouts and material/process flows using AutoCAD and related CAD tools.
Lead the engineering and implementation of integrated automation systems, including AS/RS, high‑speed sortation, conveyance, robotics, and print‑and‑apply solutions.
Partner with vendors and integrators on equipment specifications, system architecture, and site layouts.
Oversee process and system commissioning, testing, and go‑live activities to ensure operational readiness.
Data, Analytics & Intelligent Operations
Drive improved engineered standards, KPIs, and performance dashboards across sites.
Perform advanced data mining using SQL and warehouse management system (WMS) data to identify improvement opportunities.
Leverage AI/ML‑enabled analytics (e.g., predictive labor modeling, demand‑driven capacity planning, anomaly detection, and process optimization) to inform operational decisions.
Collaborate with data science and IT partners to translate operational problems into analytical and machine‑learning use cases.
Cross‑Functional Leadership & Execution
Act as a trusted engineering partner to operations leaders, start‑up teams, IT, safety, and external vendors.
Manage project schedules, quality, change requests, and vendor performance for initiatives ranging from sub‑$1M to $5M+.
Ensure training, standard work, maintenance, and safety practices are embedded for all new processes and systems.
Build strong, influential relationships across multiple sites and leadership levels.
